I dont pay a lot of attention to tanks asses, I should do that more
Isnt it this?
110 to 40
Its been 40mm since the dev server
yea, but that is the only part that ever was 110 and got changed to 40…
The weakest point on a tank will always be the tracks - blow them off and you have an immobile bunker. Your opponents then (no matter how incompetent they might be) have all the time in the world to throw every ATGM and arty round in the inventory at it until it is destroyed. It might well have been blown up by friendlies to prevent capture for all we know (we don’t).
I do however note the following.
-
The crew all survived - the armour did it’s job even without the additional IED protection that a British TES CR2 would have had. A tank can be replaced, an experienced group of people cannot - something that the original Soviet tank designers never seemed to get their heads around.
-
It looks remarkably intact compared to an equivalent T-series tank destruction - where it’s often impossible to even tell what type of vehicle you are looking at. The turret and hull are in the same postcode for one thing.
I dont believe so, I know I tested that section against 30mm APFSDS on the dev server and it was able to penetrate that. That wasnt possible when it was 110mm
Looks more like spaced armor on the mantlet
@DevilO6 I think it was the rear plate that was changed. I went on youtube to see Chally 2 prior to this update and the rear plates is blue not yellow
Datamine says both changed but the one you’ve shown was already 40mm prior to the patch, I guess it’s like some internal change which doesn’t matter because the plate is labelled variable thickness armour
so they managed to nerf the sidescreen but not get round to buffing the turret sides or anything else other than the gear ratios?
played a blinder there gaijin.
especially because the 3D model completly disregards the 40mm thickness and now the era bricks float in the air
because someone thought he was smart with pixelcounting
ah yes pixel counting
instead of doing some actual research (well, we’ll do that bit for them. all they have to do is check the legitimacy of said research) and you know, seeing that STANAG Level 5 means protection against all 25mm rounds at ranges above 500m and that ASPRO HMT meets that…
but i suppose that’d require something Gaijin lacks a bit.
We are simply too dumb to understand gaijins logic. Only they can balance the game as they are completely unbiased in their opinions and only they can make fair and balanced decisions on our part otherwise the game would be one sided.
we now have a “DUST COVER” with the same thickness of the prior side plate

then the visual model with the THICKER PLATE and 40mm plate in the armour viewer…

i honestly lost hope
Maybe google translate read “fix the challenger” as british for “kill the challenger”
That is because the side screen is covered by a dust cover, you can see it here at 65mm of dust cover
or so the snails say. Ignore that 200mm composite block is attached to the composite screen cover, because why not?. Also what is the point of COVERING THE COMPOSITE SCREEN? like, why cover it?
same reasoning as MUH the crew wears PPE so no SIDE SPALL LINER
snails and logic apperantly are 2 seperate entities
what
thats their reasoning: crew wears kevlar so no spall liners in the hull sides
