Centurion Mk 10 & Strv 101 AA .30 Browning

Stirring the pot for discussion. Are we ever going to get the AA Browning on Centurion?

The bug report I made a year ago was closed as a duplicate, imagine my surprise in finding the original bug report is from 2018!

Russian and US tanks (no hate) out there living their best lives with a .50 and here we are begging for the historical .30 calibre that was added from the Centurion Mk 5 onwards.

Long overdue. Here’s a British Army training video from 1960 detailing operation of rooftop and coax MGs from the Centurion Mk 5 onwards.

Are they the same weapon the Israel variants use? they literally have like 3-4 of them lol

Yes, the Israeli Sho’t has 1x .50 cal, Sho’t Kal Alef has 1x .30 cal, and the Sho’t Kal Gimel has 2x .30 and 1x .50 cal.

Just to point out that the Mk 10 and Mk 5 (in this case the Mk 5/1) use the same fitting to mount the .30 MG.

Fellow pintle-mounted machine gun enthusiasts;

Following discussion with the big man I’ve learnt a little more about policy, that being that roof AA is considered a balance point rather than an entitlement and will not be added purely on the basis of sources.

The original bug report by @moz2003 for the Centurion Mk 10 still stands and I believe also applies to the Strv 101, it being but a Mk 10 by another name. Sweden was of course not added to the game yet at the time of the report.

Secondly, the best route towards highlighting the AA MG is by popular and positive community engagement, eg. discussion of the subject. If we demonstrate that the addition of the roof MG is something that people want in the game then it stands a better chance of being brought to dev attention and possibly being actioned.

theres a picture of a Strv 81 with the mg too which is both a mk 3 and mk 5

Both hilarious and infuriating, but it means that Sweden can claim another Cent with the AA .30, if the Strv 81 (1955) version is suggested.

I think the cent 5 is Strv 81 B, or that designation is for the improved 20pdr barrel
