I was thinking about this the other day, why don’t the British centurions get night-vision devices? There are plenty of images of centurions with night vision, and other countries have these tanks with
Night-vision. (Sho’t Kal Alef) so why doesn’t Britain get any night vision devices? Im not great at finding historical sources, but according to Army Guide it says that British centurions began to be outfitted with night-vision devices in 1960, just a year after the centurion mk 10 began production. So could it not be feasible to give at least the mk 10 a nightvision device considering that the sho’t gets it at 8.0?
Feel free to critique, it’s my first time making a post. So I’m not quite sure how to do/format one…😅
We’d need a Mk.10/1 for NVDs, we have a bog standard Mk.10, IMO a better option would be a Mk.13 or something.
I agree, it could be added as a secondary research, the same way you research the olifant from the rooikat (not sure what that process is actually called)
Weirdly enough, archives of the wiki say the Mk 10 did have NVD until they were made available stock (and hence the modification universally removed). I don’t see any changelogs saying that NVDs were removed from the Mk 10 either.
Only if it was for the Mk 13, since apart from NVD it also got a .50 cal. If the in-game Mk 10 really doesn’t have NVD, then making a researchable modification for the Mk 10/1 wouldn’t make sense, since the reason NVDs were made stock was to remove the need to research a modification to get NVDs.

Good idea, a small change could be made: add the Centurion Mk 6 and place it on the Br 8.0, using the APDS L28A1 as its best ammunition. The Centurion Mk 6 would essentially be like the premium Australian Centurion Mk 5/1, but with the 105mm L7 cannon, without the rear basket and the spare wheels on the front. On the other hand, I would take the Centurion Mk10 and change it to the Mk13 model, putting it in Br8.3 or 8.7, having as the best ammunition the APDS L52 (M728). The Centurion Mk13 is the same as the Mk10 but with an IR spotlight and a .50 ranging gun in the mantlet next to the 7.7mm. Apart from that, it would be necessary to give the Centurion Mk13 the armor of the real mantlet, since in the game the Mk10 has 152mm of armor in the mantlet, when it should have those 152mm plus another 100mm inside.

PD: The mantelet issue has been reported. This is one of the things I hate most about gaijin, and it makes me have almost no faith in these developers.
For God’s sake, June 2020.
deffo not 8.7, thats chieftain territory. And keep in mind the Vickers MBT MK.3 is 8.3 with M728 and a LRF, & the olifant mk.1 with M111 & a LRF is also 8.3
So probably keep it at 8.0, or up to 8.3
Yes, it would be difficult to place it. In principle, a Br 8.3 would be more or less correct, especially if the mantlet armor is corrected, which would give it a 252mm mantlet.
It must also be acknowledged that the game could benefit from a more extensive decompression of the Br. If the Chieftain with the L15 is Br 8.7, it’s impossible for the Olifant with the M111 to be 8.3; they should be larger. But if you raise it, it faces much better tanks, and all because of the damn Br compression.
