In Soviet tests using a captured Magach 3 it gave them an effectiveness of around 410mm.
In fact I made a report on this topic, but they didn’t accept it (as always).

Probably used the excuse of not using Russian docs on nato equipment and vise versu. You would think they would be more accurate as there’s no point telling your troops to shoot somewhere you know they can’t pen. But hey this is gaijin.
I don’t believe the ERA is in fact BLAZER. I’m thinking it might be VARMA-1 which is very similar but was used on the Vickers tanks and the LFP of the Challenger 2E upgrade.
Is there a difference between romor and Varma? As I’ve been told the lfp on the challenger is romor b. And from what I’ve seen with this
I think there is a difference between the two. I think it’s more likely to be romor b than Varma.
I was wrong. It was ROMOR-A which is different but they have a few similarities.
Either way it’s under performing. It should provide somewhere around 400~450mm of ce protection and ~40mm of ke protection. This is all at an angle of 60 degrees mind you but in game Russian era provides its full protection (as if it’s being struck at 60 degrees) no matter what angle you hit it so I don’t see why we get the minimal value. As hitting Russian era perpendicular should provide no extra ke protection as it works by degrading the penetrated by degrading it. Can’t do that when it’s going between the fragments. Double standards should not be a thing if you’re going for “realism” or balance.
