We just going to ignore the British and Soviet contributions or are we skipping immediately to the two B-29’s?

It wasn’t like this years ago

I don’t want to be salty but…
USSR and USA were the main forces that ended this war
Why is China the ONLY nation that’s getting discounts on something besides useless tier 1 packs?

Hey um Stona that links to the gaijin.net website and not the store

Also why is china getting such big discounts while the rest of the nations don’t?? Not complaining but it’s still odd

Crazy how the USSR just didn’t do anything in the Pacific up until about 2 weeks before it ended, I SURE WONDER why its not heavily based around Russia

Actually 🤓 USSR had treaty with Imperial Japan to not to attack each other and then sure soviets broke it in the end 🤷. Which makes ussr discounts even more funny/silly to see.

Oh I know, but this event is about the official end of WW2 (I.e VJ Day) which is US, UK (Commonwealth included), China, France (little bit), Netherlands and that little smidge on the side is Russia

Imho it is not about contributions - it is about being able or having the resources to contribute.

So without US supplies the USSR would have not be able to get through 1941-43 - and the UK was kept artificially alive from 1940 onwards. Without the US cover for convoys (which carried supplies which enabled them to fight) the UK would have been out of the fight rather quick - even as they were supported by colonial troops from the Commonwealth.

Most historians agree that the USSR had won the ground war - the US actions (like Torch etc) and the constant flow of supplies enabled them to do this and get through their critical phases.

So technically seen there is nothing wrong with a US decal for VJ day.

US cover for convoys? You mean the people who came in, didn’t listen to the advice of allies who had perfected the art of hunting U-boats, got the convoys they were protecting sunk and giving the Kriegsmarine the best time they had in years and only to proclaim “oh well!” Those convoys we are on about yes? Those over there?

Bring it somewhere else.

Yeah yeah, we know Chinese discounts are weird. No need to start some pointless debate on contributions of individual countries.

This gets a little bit OT 😉

Summary

Your points are not entirely wrong, but you missed the point: The goods itself.

Google “destroyers for bases” and do some research about the amount of (and what kind of) goods were delivered at which point in time. And since when the US actively fought in the Atlantic Ocean (=before December '41).

So even if the USN was not as effective as in the Pacific the goods itself allowed the UK to stay in the fight.

You might even argue that the Moustache Man was outsmarted by the UK with declaring war in 1939 - as the UK was not on his menu. Why should he get into war with a country ruled by German Royals?

Have a good one!
