Have to disagree on this one Alvis. It’s not because the missile sucks, it’s because of the general nature of SACLOS guidance. Strela while lacking any meaningful spotting mechanism asides from T-6-1 is somewhat better because it is FnF in exchange for range and poorer anti heli performance

these antiairs dont handle CAS that well, and most importantly nobody spawns them. russia has a competent SPAA at that BR (2s6) but at the same time, its russia who spawns KA-50 and removes all strelas and other weak SPAAs. other nations dont have equally competent lineups, SPAAs nor CAS aircraft.

NATO has superior CAS at 10.7, and Ka-50 is 11.3 which means: HQ17, Osa [3 tech trees outside Soviets, and ASRAD all are capable of dealing with Ka-50.

For longer ranges Osa should actually be better than 2S6.

doesnt matter whether NATO has superior CAS at 10.7 when all CAS is superior to ground vehicles.
all the other higher BR AAs still struggle with a ka-50 unless the player is bad and is just floating up in the air easy to shoot down. even pantsir struggles with a competent ka-50 player, the only advantage is the 12 missiles.

for longer ranges yes but the missile launcher is awkward, useless at close range, no machine gun and its on wheels

Whenever I’m in a bad mood, I play Z10 and carry 16 TY90s. At the beginning of the game, I go to the opposite airport to find a valley grove or house area to ambush, which can effectively reduce the CAS in the sky

AAs struggle with most helicopters at higher tiers.

It’s weird as Strela beats it in closer ranges and it loses to Osa at longer distances. It’s great at being mediocre at it’s job.

Careful, I fear that you have awoken a million “skill issue” comments coming from people who have never once touched Britain.

yea its mediocre but sometimes it can be useful. strela missile is better but the manual guiding works sometimes, and the actual weapon is also nice while strela or osa just sits there and stares.
but regardless of its effectiveness compared to other AAs, it just cant deal with CAS properly

biggest problem about cas at top tier is maps and that some not really important actions give to many points to spawn plane, you just capture home point + some damage and you can take full loadout eurofigther for example.

I believe that it is necessary to regulate the number of aircraft in combat.

I don't want to play "Ground realistic battles" and see that there are more aircraft flying than tanks.

Where’s the nato version of the pic?

The helicopters that can cause problem are with fire and forget missiles are in 10.3-10.7 from two nations.

man i hate the spike from the Tiger HAD, its as annoying as the vihkr(?), hellfire is potent but not as competent

Cas has led to lots of problems, i agree with that. However it is a crucial part of grb gameplay, which makes the game different to others like WOT. As an Cas enjoyer myself, i’d say costing sp to rearm at the airfield for agms and decreasing sp discount on aircrafts by scouting are some solutions for mitigation, but there will never be balance between ground and air unless they completely remove planes from grb which is barely possible.

CAS is the least crucial part of ground gameplay.
its proven that gaijin is unable to balance CAS properly, so the only viable solution is to remove it or nerf it massively.
but i assume the game is going to remain unplayable because some people bought CAS vehicles so they cant remove them now. for that reason there should simply be a separate actual ground gamemode and everyone will be happy
