Because the small maps make it harder to avoid SPAA. If SPAA were in ARB, everyone would have the option to ignore them cause the battlefield is hundreds of miles across, but in GRB, the battlefield is only 1 or 2 miles across.
Aircraft in ground forces just ruin the game tbh. Nothing worse than having stuff like Yak 9’s running around deleting half the team because the dev’s thought it would be a great idea to give it APHE ammo…
Honestly yet again the devs do something dumb and very questionable.
Except you forget none of this made these vehicles any less playable besides lowering or increasing the amount of dopamine you get from it lol. When that aspect changes they care a lot, e.g. NVD modification gets removed everyone gets immediately compensated for it even though it’s a tiny tiny loss.
This game has a shit ton of reports on everything all the time all day long, on top of people spamming dumb reports, drama over someone’s countries favorite tank not being as good as they think or whatever. The laundry list for Gaijin is a incredibly long if you care enough to read the bug reports.
Also not increasing playerbase…it’s been at it’s highest ever for the past like 2 or 3 years lol and thinking a singular issue like CAS is going to make it’s playerbase rise or fall is pretty naive considering the scale of the game. This thread does not represent the rest of the playerbase unsurprisingly.
I’ve just started playing top tier ground and I keep getting thunderstruck out of nowhere by choppers early in the match. Is this normal o.0 ?

Since they started to do ads the playerbase increqsed from 30k to over 100k, then corona came into play and made it increase more.
The ads + corona is what made the playerbase bigger.
But tha game loses as many players per month as it gains now and this is the very first year in wt history that the playerbade has NOT increased. Even before ads it was increasing slowly.
If they would stop ads today we would likely see a drop in playerbade of tens of thousands, as ads are only for hight tier modern combat, but exakly there is the main issue of the game and excakly these people that habe interwst in that is likely exakly the playerbase that also leaves very quick again.
They have to do smt if they dont want to lose even more players, whatever that will be. And from what i hear left and right… a tank obly mode will be somethink ten of thousands are looking for, old, retired and active players.
Ofc it would make the sellouts different, but what do i care about how they and if they make a 250% margin or just 150%… or if they even need to change the monetising method, away from gambling and purposely frustrating and p2w.
And i want them to change, as right now the game is really… simply less interesting then it was 8years ago.

Well, shooting at ground vehicles in ARB is boring as hell, there’s no minimal challenge and I mean that, you all say that SPAAs are bad, and they are, however they do put some minimal pressure to the CAS main, however, in ARB it’s boring as hell. In my opinion, they should add a mode similar to the SEAD we’ve had these days (no tags for enemies, and no drones scouting the entire map) hit indicators would obviously have to be removed from everywhere but well. Maybe this way it would get balanced, either way I stand on my point from ages ago, limit the number of planes in the air and since the new addition, why not limit the loadout of the planes to just one sortie?
Boring as hell or just not enough verhicles because I know they aren’t enough verhicles in ARB and you can destroy all the verhicles in 5 -10 min depend the br you are playing. No verhicle respawn and the next battles is real air battles not like in GRB when you get verhicles respawn and limited spaa and no fighter shooting you down in ARB.
Another fallacy. This thread is a representation of players who are willing to voice their displeasure or pleasure when it comes to CAS.
If you are going to make an assertion such as this then you should be able to back it up with numbers that are an accurate reflection of the entire player base, not just the base that shares your view.

Gaigin could, indeed, make A TO-Only game mode which would not lessen the player base and quite possibly be able to bring back those who have quit out of frustration.
Honestly, I have thought about giving it up due to many times where I have had a strong position, perhaps holding a flank, and have had those who cannot break through take to a plane and take that position away from me.
IMO, we should have choices and if one wants to break a position by strapping on a plane then give them a game mode to do so, but allow for a game mode where players actually have to work just a bit harder to break that superior position.

ARB CAS being boring (and also lacking PvP interaction) is a major reason, but something else I don’t see a lot of ppl talking about with CAS, is that gaining thousands of SP would be completely meaningless without it.

To be honest, when I want to bomb things, I just go to an ASB and do it. Though it’s boring as hell, I need Gaijin to change something about Air SImulator Battles.

We must understand that not everyone wishes for certain parts of the game to be present, or taken away, and that there are solutions to both sides of the argument: Gaigin can have a TO gameplay which would not reduce the user base, while at the same time offering GB which include CAS.

Allow for CAS but if you want to do CAS because it is “realistic” then make it realistic:

Do not allow tankers to suddenly become combat pilots. If you choose the CAS role then you may not play ground, you must remain in an aircraft for the entire match. Conversely, if you start on ground you may not then choose CAS, you must remain on the ground.

Make CAS spawn on the ground from no less than 20K away from the battlefield.

Make CAS fight through not only AI and player AA but AI and player CAP on the way to, at and away from the battlefield, as it would have to do IRL.

If you choose to fight CAS in arcade then if you get shot down that is a credit against your respawn chances. As it is now in arcade one can die, go up in a plane to revenge kill, get shot down and not spend a respawn.
You want “realism”? Then have your realism and see how hard CAS is if it is realistic.

The people who complain constantly about the CAS threat commonly let it live rent-free in thier head because the situation isn’t as dire as they make out, ever… It’s always ‘they always do it’ and ‘it always happens’ but it genuinely doesn’t.
If you look at the charts it’s pretty much peaked for a while now.
Care to explain how? Games always been playable in that way, hop in a bomber or something and farm in arb, hop in tank and lob shells at other sluggish ww2 tanks(which is still fun don’t get me wrong). Now? Hop in a tank with autocannon, be watching for drones, helis, listening for airplane sound or tanks which now have 2 or 3 times the speed they had 8 years ago. Flanks are easier and more destructive, games more fast paced and challenging, you alt tab for 10 second in ARB you can die to a ARH missile without even seeing an enemy marker, you listen to music some guy can mow you down with a light tank that goes 80kph around a flank, etc.
You can still chill on this game especially with the right vehicles but I fail to see how this games gotten less interesting lol.
What charts are u using? Peak was over 15month ago. And it has been a new peak since the beginning of WT… just not this year.
