I was playing the game on windows with no issues however after switching to linux I noticed that I could no longer click on things to interact with them while holding alt (for example if I were to try to call artillery or ping the map while holding alt). Is this a glitch or is there a setting somewhere that I have simply forgotten about?
Hello @kakks1,
You need to have a key (Default is Alt I believe) bound to the Controls > Common > Interface > Show mouse cursor function to get the mouse cursor visible so you can click on the interface while in a match.
Do you have that control function bound to a key?
I can use alt to show the mouse cursor, the problem is just that clicking on things with the cursor doesn’t do anything.
Right, Could you please post your system information from the inxi -F command? You may have to install it first.
Here is almost all of the info the command spat out, I removed the network section as it appeared to have contained my mac address.

Thank you, How are you launching WT exactly? Directly through the launcher, Steam, etc? Using anything like gamescope, gamemode, etc?
I’m launching the game through steam and I’m not using anything like gamescope, just the in built fps monitor from steam.
Right, Do you have the Steam Overlay enabled? Also What do you have the Steam FPS monitor “Performance detail level” option set to?
If you launch WT directly outside of Steam by executing the “launcher” executable in your main “WarThunder” directory do you still have the same issue?
I do have steam overlay enabled and the fps monitor is set to show “FPS single value”. Launching the game through the launcher didn’t fix the issue though. Sorry for replying so late, the notification got lost in my inbox.
Although I activate steam overlay with “shift + F2” so in theory it shouldn’t be causing issues.
Right, How often do you press “shift + F2” after you start WT?
Very rarely, only time steam overlay kicks in is when I look at premiums or event vehicles. I also tried turning off steam overlay and the problem still persists.
Right, That rules that out then, Could you please backup your controls config to a file using the in game export option, Just so you have a backup of it if you don’t already.
Then go into your “~/.config/WarThunder” directory and rename the “Saves” directory to something else, “Saves_backup” for example. That will reset all your controls and settings. Now start WT and see if the issue reproduces in a test drive?
Didn’t work. But something that I have just discovered is that holding alt and left mouse button will allow me to drag a window (as if I was holding the bar on the top) no matter where my cursor is. So it is most likely that conflicting with the game, I will see if I can disable it.
I have figured out how to disable it, seems to be an issue with gnome based distros. It works perfectly now. I apologize for wasting your time.
Right, No problem at all, At least you have found the cause of the issue. Thanks for letting me know you fixed it. :)
