Cant drop nuke in Ground RB

Look at the video in the link: I got a nuke but was unable to drop it until the very last second (I dont know )

The video is removed. But I got a verbal description:

And here are my settings for Air battles:

What I did:

  1. I selected the nuke bomb in the weapon selector.
  2. I deactivated any target point (even if there wasnt one)
  3. I fly to the point where the CCIP mark is right in the battlefield (in my understanding that means the nuke is in the combat zone)
  4. I hit my keybind (spacebar) for dropping bomb but it shows “Drop bomb series command is blocked by active weapon selector” . But I didnt have any bomb series to drop. I have only ONE bomb that is a nuke.
  5. I frustrated and repeatedly hitting spacebar and somehow it was dropped at the last second, with a line says “sight mode: standard”

I have tried that I can drop unguided bombs at will with target point deactivated. And I can drop guided bombs anytime even when the target point
is activated. I think Nuke is considered as an unguided bomb, so that means according to my settings I should be able to drop the nuke.

Another possibility is my nuke plane must be really close to the combat zone to drop the nuke, but Gaijin never specifies how close is close enough, there are no visual marks on battlefield nor on map.

Why this part of the game is so frustrating. I just dont understand. This should an easy thing, just hit spacebar and a nuke should like any bombs just to go. The CCIP is right on the battlefield, I am fed up with this. This was not the first time.

Someone please help. Thanks!

Your plane has to physically be within the “tank-zone” of the map.

the nuke plane basically needs to be within the bounds of the actual ground map itself

it does you need to be over the battlefield when you try to drop the bomb

As others have said, the plane needs to be above the ground map to be able to drop the nuke.

Also, i do not recommend sharing files like that as that can be a security risk, it’s better to link to the server replay found on the main War Thunder website, that way everyone can view the replay in-game and have full control over the camera as well.
