Can't access game today after Battleye update

The only way I got it to work was running the exe manually as an administrator after closing the Steam client.

Same thing here. . . The only thing that wokrs for me is the oldest “ea” launcher.
I’m not very optimistic because this problem has not been solved since the beggining of Decenber. . .
Who cares about 1117 days of login anyway?

you can try to launch the 2 exes acex_BE.exe or eac_wt_mlauncher.exe on the game folder and see which one works for you

True, this is a workaround but not a permanent fix

Well we can always respond to Gaijin with our wallets and reviewing bombing the game on steam.

I’ll be honest, I was completely expecting this transition to be a complete waste of time, but I wasn’t expecting to not even be able to run the game after.

We all know there might be issues with the transition but why Battleye. I also play R6 and I got used to watch day after day people getting banned in game so Battleye don’t stop cheaters from hacking in the game it only seems to ban them after they fucked up the experience for the rest, and even that is not certain because I have encountered cheaters that are still playing on their steam accounts unpunished

I have been experiencing the same issue the game only works outside of Steam using the aces.exe file which i find strange because the error says i dont have permission to the aces.exe file

For those wondering what happened with this issue my report on the Gaijin.net got accepted so devs acknowledge the issue is real. If you want to check the report here is the link aces.exe wont launch Battleye

I found a fix.

If you go where your aces.exe is (…\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\War Thunder\win64\aces.exe) and right click on it. This should be the same path you’re getting at the top of that pop up window with the red X. Go to Properties → Compatibility → Run as Administrator and make sure this is unchecked. For some reason my game turned this on itself and left it on even during a full reinstall. If steam itself isn’t running as administrator then it doesn’t have the authority to run a game as an administrator. Unchecking this box and hitting apply worked for me to run the game through steam.

Alternatively if you really want to, you could run steam as administrator as well but I wouldn’t recommend that.

Was that run as administrator actually ticked?

Support actually recommended to run the game as administrator on my report and I also saw them telling other people in their reports to do the same.

The person you were responding to, said to untick something. Was it ticked when you checked?

If you however had run Steam as admin, then that would be effectively the same as running the game as admin. (Be sure if you did this to close steam down and re-open it normally after. It’s just a way of making problems fix themselves if the game hasn’t been elevated.)

yep the aces.exe was running on admin so that was the issue

I’ll have to go check my steam machine (I use another pc with vanilla client on it), that’s definitely messed up.

hi, the same thing happened to me on January 16th when I couldn’t start the game, I contacted Senior Technical moderator VONARIAN, whom I asked to help me with the problem, according to everything I found out, it was caused by Windows insider updates, but I didn’t have it turned on, I deleted the folder with battleye and tried to verify the integrity on steam and check files in the launcher, but it didn’t work, so I deleted the game and reinstalled it, it still didn’t work, later I found out that I could start the game through the old EAClauncher, which is still in the folder, so I continued playing the game, in the meantime I contacted Battleye, but they didn’t respond, I played the game until January 26th, then the game stopped working completely, I contacted Senior technical moderator Vonarian again, who told me that I should make a ticket in Gajin support, so I did, I sent my DXdiag there and submitted a request, after a few days they started communicating with me, but they asked about things I had already tried, so nothing helped, I didn’t play the game for a whole week and waited for answers, but then I found out from a friend that my account is blocked and I allegedly violated EULA 3.2.3 so I immediately appealed but no one told me what happened they only told me that I violated this article I was quite shocked because I have been playing the game for over 10 years and I have over 3600h+ in it so I definitely wouldn’t risk it and download any cheats or other dubious files that would damage the game or my computer or in some way break something from this I personally think that I could have damaged some file and the server or anticheat could have evaluated it as an attempt at fraud I really have no idea what happened but they blocked me

yes you are saying that he is definitely lying and he is a cheater BUT I am saying that in the whole 10 years I have not cheated in the game and I did everything legitimately I am willing to provide my data like DXdiag or others that would prove my innocence but gajin support does not want to say anything (in fact I think that these people are just bots with presets texts because they never helped me) I really have no idea what happened so be careful if you try to fix or change anything in the game folder otherwise you will end up like me

(I don’t blame anyone with this post and thank you that Vonarian tried to help me even though it didn’t work out)
