Since the last patch I have not been able to connect. I can log in, after doing so I transition to the hanger and I can see the correct vehicles have been loaded (Soviet 2.3 lineup). However, while waiting in the hanger screen, after about 30 seconds a message appears:
Connection error: Cannot connect to the server.
More information: (and no more information, it’s just empty)
I’m on macOS, I have no firewall, all other internet related tools are working fine.
I was able to remove the offending section using HTML editing in Developer mode in Safari.
I have successfully filed the report.
Looking over the other reports filed in the section, it appears the time-to-resolve is somewhere between the sun expanding to its red giant stage and the heat death of the universe.
In the meantime, can you suggest anything I should try?
I’ll preface this with that i have extremely limited experience with MAC and my role as a Game Master doesn’t mean that i know any more things than a regular player would regarding how the game works or any technical things (Game Masters handle in-game chat and name bans).
That being said;
First and easiest step is to restart all devices that are related to your computer getting internet (router, server, switch, splitters, extenders, etc, etc). As well as your MAC.
Another thing to try is to clear your temp-files, caches, cookies, etc (both your computers and your browsers files of that kind).
Double check any anti virus or anti malware programmes so that they aren’t the ones blocking things.
Check so that your routers built in firewall doesn’t block something and check if the ports the game uses are open or not.
The browser temp files might be able to cause issues with connections as some games/applications connect to the internet to do logins through the browser protocols (not sure if that is the same on MAC though). I know War Thunder uses a browser for some things (server replays and marketplace for example) but i don’t know to what extent.
Doesn’t MAC come with the anti virus/malware “XProtect” by default?
