Canadian Ground Forces Tech Tree

Looking at the photo I’m not even sure the Centurion turret is even capable of fitting on the Sherman hull, it seems like there is quite the overhang.

I thought it was fake at first but it is legit, now I wonder was it just a left over turret welded to the Sherman hull for target practice/armour testing? Or was it a fully functional tank at one point.

Sadly it was sold as scrap and required confirmation of being scrapped. Browse Period Contracts - Closed bidding

I personally don’t know the history of these amalgamations but I believe this Reddit comment may be correct

From this post, possibly showing another one of these vehicles
Can anyone identify? : r/TankPorn

And here is another post exhibiting a different tank as evidenced by the camo, so evidently this combination was constructed on more than one Matilda

Yeah, it’s basically a home job frankentank. One could argue it’s almost real enough for WT, but it kinda aint lol.

So I was on the website of Australian company Electro Optic Systems who manufacture RWS among other things and came across this promo image on the flyer of their heavy duty R800 RWS.

Full specs of the weapon station are on the flyer. But basically it’s a Mk.44S 30mm Bushmaster in an unmanned turret on an LAV III, possibly with some other modifications from Armatec if you can find more specifics. While this RWS is capable of also using Spikes or Javelin ATGMs, I don’t see one fitted in this photo.

What we need to do for having a chance to get Canada in war thunder?

There’s really nothing you can do. We’ve made the suggestion. A high number of people have voted yes. But it may still get ignored. We’ve done as much as can be done, now you hope and pray.

You could join the Discord server and help out there (it’s linked in the tree), as more help is always useful.

And you could vote and comment(commenting helps as it allows more people to see the suggestion) on all the Canadian suggestions:

Else, it’s as GTP_Paulie says all we can do is hope.

I won’t be useful, so I will wait ^^"

also make detailed and unique suggestions for some of the specific vehicles you would like to see in the game helps.

With what happening rn in the world, I hope Canada won’t be a sub tree for the US

Necroreplying here, but I really do hope that the Centurion Mk.5 (SS.11) is in fact real, it could provide Canada with their own unique version of the tank.

I am not sure where a reference for such a construct could be found however, but I know that personal galleries of former service members occasionally reveal other interesting unit modifications in online spaces.
