Canadian Cruiser Tanks & Variants - Technical Data and Discussion

Yeah there was a previous HE-TF report but it seems to have been notabug’d based on… BR? I have no idea what the guy is talking about, the QF 3.7 Ram is BR 5.3 when the Flakbus, Yag-10, and Pizzabus are between BR 3.3 & 4.0.

Possibly they misunderstood the report as a request for a proxy round, which is not available for the 3.7, only normal timed fuze.

Thank you @lxtav for providing the source used in the report.

As seen below, the Mk 1****, Mk 5, and Mk 5/1 shells are all able to be fitted with VT (variable timing) fuzes.

SAP would also be quite nice and a couple more AP shells wouldnt go wrong either.

Biggest issue with the 3.7 in my experience js finding shell evidence, very little public info seems to be available on it, even as far as many sources claiming it lacked AP shells entirely.

Yeah, and as I wasn’t able to find concrete information in the document regarding them (and we do already have the APCBC round shown) I decided to narrow down the report to just the HE-TF.

Is there reports or records of the 3.7 ram firing HE-TF? From the achives or microfilm?

Just because the 3.7 AA could doesnt mean the ram 3.7 ever did.

I believe it did but having archival evidence would heavily support the claim.

I haven’t looked for test reports or anything, I’m not familiar with the vehicle.

Mostly I’m just trusting that the normal selection of ammunition compatible with the QF 3.7 in Mk 2 would have been available. Ammunition is used to balance, and I see adding the HE-TF as something of a no-brainer when the APCBC is already present.
