WHY would are these missiles so flare hungry it makes no sense what so ever. A F-14A could be afterburning at 300MPH in a turn and it still miss its so annoying. it takes zero skill to dodge these missiles makes it so easy for premium noobs to dodge pressing one button. what’s point of a dogfight missile if you cant use it in a dogfight. even AIM-9E has more resistance
- buff R60M/MK
- leave as is

you can discuss down here if ya want to
assuming you meant flare button, yes the m60k is pretty easy to flare
I dont want to assume but you made it sound like you launch it during a dog fight, which is of course going to make the r60m miss, it turns pretty good but not hard enough to use it like r73.
it works in a dogfight but they always point blank flare it within 1 mile while full burner its so dumb 9L doesnt have that problem
According to Russian sources,[which?] practical engagement range is about 4,000 m (4,400 yd), although “brochure range” is 8 km (5.0 mi) at high altitude. The weapon was one of the most agile air-to-air missiles until the advent of thrust vectored missiles like the R-73 and AIM-9X. The R-60 can be used by aircraft maneuvering at up to 9*g* against targets maneuvering at up to 8g . A tactical advantage is the short minimum range of only 300 m (330 yd).
being lighter than a 9L while pulling same G load allows more turning in a fight but it doesnt matter if you can flare it point blank

i dont have r60m so i cant say much about it but from my experience fighting it, ur best way to use it is point blank when you and enemy is flying toward each other, r60m start pulling g immediately after launch so you can catch people off guard.
r60m is pretty easy to flare so I suggest you launch at a hot target like f14’s and f111’s. You mentioned that f14a managed to flare your r60m while after burning, its hard but not impossible. idk
R-60M acts just like the R-60 which is fairly similar to early missiles before the Aim-9L, the R-60MK is somewhat as effective as the Aim-9L for example.

TLDR: it’s a good missile at 11.x, not at 12.0+ like on the MiG-29 9-13 and Yak-141

Once flared an R60 but it was already close enough to not be able to pull away from me. Also just wanna add the laughably low explosive mass failing to crit some times.
aim-9E has a higher flare resistance to and its on F100 so
I could reiterate it, but my knowledge regarding missiles not being their effectiveness in-game is fairly low, that’s why I’m using the Aim-9L as reference, but sincerly I never had a good experience with early missiles, always relied on guns.
There isint alot that can be done, while good for the time they are just that bad once you enter the mig-29 era irl.
sadly you cant rely on guns do to low ammo count you get like 250 rounds enough for like half the match
They aren’t aim9l analogues and its reflected in the BR system, if the mig21bis has 6 aim 9L it sure as hell wouldn’t be 11.3.
They aren’t very good missiles for the type of combat in WT, they pull super hard off the rails, but are very short range, nametag system and 3rd person camera basically ensures that you won’t be able to sneak a launch in on someone without them noticing.

just tweak the flare resistance on them just a little

skill issue, your Seeker saw the flare so he goes to the flare
I don’t think it has any kind of flare rejection? giving it some would be unrealistic, it just goes for the hottest source it sees, which is why I’ve had plenty of TKs with it lol.

well i dont think it should go for a flare if he pops one flare while full afterburning
As far as source docs go only missiles at the level of AIM-9L will have the required seeker sensitivity to reject flares when hotter afterburner plume is on their field of view. R-60M and MK were known for fairly poor seeker sensitivity and this is reflected in game.
mig 21-mig29 got artificial nerfs all the time cause F4 noobs so a Ahistorical buff is fine
