Can the SU-39 use its radar to launch vikhirs?

Cant seem to find any information on this, seems like it would be pretty strong and there would be more uproar between this and the TT one if that was the case.

Only in the sense that the radar slaves the targeting optic to the locked target.

But it doesn’t make it a SARH missile, still a beam-rider to the optics sight line.

And you can already lock planes with the targeting optic anyway, radar or no radar.

Ya even thats really strong, im thinking about a rank 7 premium and wondering how good the su39 is in sim with that radar.

Not really strong, its barely different to just using the targeting optic. And its still a Vikhr, very easy to just turn away from. The radar just gives them early warning on their RWR.

Im sure it beats out using target point, hitting V, finding the target and locking then going back into cockpit by at least a few seconds which can make the difference.

Not really , Radar makes the enemy know you are there.
How will the enemy know when to dodge if the guidance is done only by laser : )

Giving away your location by radar pinging them can also make the difference.

thats a good point I didnt think of that

I guess you could use it to get the lock and drop radar and only ping them once at least?

***I tested this in a testflight and it seems if you turn off the radar it unslaves the laser head as well thats a shame

Also is the su39 the only variant that gets a radar and could theoretically get r77 in the future? Or can the su25t or SM3 also get that capability?
