Can someone explain me how the variable repair cost works?

I don’t get it, when I die early in ARB it seems to be completely random whether I pay almost nothing or full repair price. Is it not supposed to simply work on a timer, increasing to full price with match time ?

It depends on the time between spawning in and dying. It starts at a low number and then slowly rises until it reaches the max repair cost. Don’t know how fast it rises but dying 2min into a match will make you pay less than 4 min in for example

One thing many seem to miss is that if you J-out it becomes full cost no matter how long/short time you played.

Thanks, that’s it.
So that means that sometimes you might be crippled at high altitude early in the match and you have to ride the wreck flip-flopping slowly down to the ground instead of ejecting to save SL. That’s very dumb but whatever, at least now I know.

If you are crippled then you either got shot and are about to die anyway or you can try and save the plane. If you make it back to airfield and repair, good for you no repair cost. If not you could always just nosedive and crash. If you took damage that will count as a kill and you will get reduced repair cost. Although I really wonder what planes you play where repair cost is such an issue.

Sometimes you can lose some control and/or lifting surfaces and your plane will slowly flatspin to the ground and you cannot really fasten the crash.
It makes little sense that you should not eject in this situation but it’s certainly not a big deal.

And sure it’s not a big issue but if you are a free player and you fly a plane which does not get kill easily as you want go through a difficult rank (let’s say French air rank 6) you’ll want to not lose too much SL.

I mean I am mostly a free player as in I don’t have premium account and mostly fly and play regular vehicles and I never really had issues with SL. You can be happy they actually reduced repair costs and introduced the increasing cost. France befoe that was pain with the repair costs.

Thank you for sharing your opinion and experience.

It depends on wether you’re counted as dead or not. If you see the name of the only who killed you appear and stuff but are still controlling the plane (like, you can still shoot your guns), you can J-out. However if there isn’t any sort of kill screen and you’re just falling out of the sky you gotta wait
