Can someone explain how the damage is working/not working in this please?

Playing naval AB, I’m not new to the mode at all and have only seen this happen a couple of times and managed to screen record it this time.

The enemy isn’t on their spawn point nor have they been for more than long enough for any spawn protection.
Every time my shots land and show how much damage they do it subtracts from the ships crew total thing but almost immediately jumps back up. In one instance landing 18% and 35% in one hit yet the number just bounces back from 10% to the 63% after being subtracted from go sl the damage and stuff.

I started recoding this because I noticed 5 of my salvos hit the ship, damaged it really well knocked the numbers down but they jumped back up immediately, just as is the case in the vid.

I did kill the ship off by ammo racking it eventually but at that point wasn’t trying and was more concerned why the heck the damage was being taken away so immediately too.

Anyone go an insight into this phenomenon at all? Fwiw I don’t think they’re cheating either, I found the same player after they respawned in game and took them out with ease and none of the above happening either

So yeah any insight how this is a thing and why greatly appreciated!

Not exactly sure… but the only time It happend to me is when there is 2 or more ships over there and your hitting more then 1 ships causing this changes.

It’s a weird one, looking at the replay too from their pov there’s no other ship near them by 2km, all my shots are hitting them too, the only weird thing I can see in the replay is their ship vanishes for 5-10 seconds mid salvo then reappears in exactly the same spot, the enemy is a gaijin bot ship too fwiw not an actual player

Then surely it an bug. Even if it jump from 10% to 63% crew it actual crew is only 10% so don’t worry to much. Very annoying sometimes though.
