Can run the game with EAC disabled, but cannot with it enabled

Today I found that I cannot open the game through both Steam and manual update. In specific, it seems that the game runs for a second after the EAC is enabled, and closes by itself.

I tried to disable the EAC through the manual update, and the game can be opened normally (but u cannot play it without EAC).

I have tried:

Reinstall game

Check and fix files (through both Steam and manual update)

Fix EAC by running easyanticheat_setup

Exclude the game and the EAC folder from antivirus or firewall.

But it still doesn’t work.

Any suggestions for the further steps I can take?

No. And by the way there is no error message/code shown when the game closes itself.

Try repairing the EasyAntiCheat. Just find the EasyAntiCheat in your War Thunder folders, open it and select repair.

You could also delete your cache folder in War Thunder and let it rebuild itself next start.

This is not a solution, however fwiw, you can play Ground AB, Air AB and Air RB without EAC turned on. (Just tested it in game, these 3 modes allow you to queue with EAC off.)

Ground RB and Naval modes will not allow you to queue with EAC off.

Be sure to run the EAC setup as admin, as well as making sure any antivirus is exempting the folder, not just the game EXE.

Sir, Ive been doing their step by step “fixes” since 2022 and it has never worked. EAC/WT RB/SB just decided to stop working on Nov 2022 and it has never worked since

If you haven’t tried reformatting, I’d suggest that… It’s more likely to be a fault with your actual setup compared to it being EAC and ‘unfixable’…

Especially if you’ve had this issue for this long without having any luck or progress.

As soon as war thunder was switched to the new BattlEye, the game, including RB/SB, has worked properly for two plus months now with no issues whatsoever…

That can easily be coincidence, as the EAC issue would still be there, and could still just be a config issue.

After all, this is 5-6 months ago…

I have had these same problems also that the guy who started with doing all the reinstalling, repairing EAC etc. and the error message just says “the application could not be launched correctly”

That shouldn’t be stopping the game running, they are merely warnings by the look of it.

With your windows install, I actually held back the latest update because of the reports I seen from when it dropped that it was a bit questionable.

Was it a clean windows install, or an upgrade?

I’d check you have an exemption for the game folder in your antivirus if you run one.
