HISTORY
The Polish Armed Forces operates over 1,000 aging BWP-1 infantry fighting vehicles, which increasingly struggle to meet modern battlefield requirements. To address this capability gap while awaiting the widespread adoption of the new BWP Borsuk, Polish defense manufacturer Niewiadów Polska Grupa Militarna in cooperation with Slovak partner ZTS - SPECIAL showcased a targeted modernization concept incorporating the DVK-30 weapon module.
For demonstration purposes, the DVK-30 turret was integrated onto the BWR-1S (Polish designation for the Czechoslovak BPzV Svatava), a specialized battlefield reconnaissance platform derived from the BWP-1.

The DVK-30 turret houses a two-plane stabilized 30mm GTS-30/N automatic cannon fed by 300 rounds of ready to use ammunition with a coaxially mounted 7.62mm PKT machine gun supplied with 1,500 ready rounds. The main gun is capable of achieving a rate of fire of 400 rounds per minute with elevation angles ranging from -4° to +50°, the system provides efficient firepower against lightly armored vehicles and infantry.
Beyond raw firepower, the DVK-30 integration equips the platform with an modern electro-optical sighting suite for the gunner. This includes a daylight camera, a 3rd-generation thermal camera, and an integrated laser rangefinder, giving the vehicle full day-and-night targeting capabilities in all weather conditions.
