HISTORY
Hägglunds Bandvagn 206 is a vehicle developed and manufactured in Sweden, it was constructed by the company Hägglunds and the first variants came in the early 1970s. This vehicle then consists of two parts, a driver’s car and a rear car where you can either have soldiers or weapons, depending on the need, but in the original package they came for troop transport. the wagon is hydraulically steered, and there is operation on all 4 belts on the wagon, there is also the possibility of low series. The cart can also float and drive in water, but then a few preparations are required. With all this, the pram has an incredibly good five-way ability in all terrains, both water, mud and snow, as it is small, light and flexible.

In Norway, the BV 206 has been in use since the early 1980s as a successor to the aging Volvo BV202. The BV 206 wagon was upgraded in Norwegian service a number of times, with a number of variants. In 1988, the provisional last edition came with a 6-cylinder Mercedes turbodiesel engine, and this had an effect of 136 horsepower like the petrol variant, but was still as economical in use and had the same range as the 5-cylinder engine. These were modified and found in a number of variants, both for mortars, radars, transport of equipment and ye other things. In the picture above we can see that the rear wagon is a bomber wagon, this is then a BV 206 DN6 BK ULAV, and this stands for Bandvagn 206 Diesel Norsk (Diesel Norwegian) the number 6 specifies the eigne, wich is the 6scyl 135hp Mercedes diesel eigne and BK stands for Bombekastervogn (Mortar wagon) and the ULAV stands for Underlavett (Under affutage) som da er opgitt som Norsk Modell 165.

During a multinational military exercise in 2009 in connection with Nato, which was held in Norway and called “Battle Griffin” where, among other things, Italy was a participant, I saw in a booklet a picture of an ATGM Milan mounted on a Norwegian BV206 DN6 BK. Due to logistic reasons the Italians had left behind most of their equipment, but they had brought weapons such as ATGM Milan’s. Because of this, the Italians were lent some Norwegian BV206 wagons, and attached/mounted ATGM Milan launchers on the roof. Judging from the information available on the ATGM Milan launcher, Italy operated the Milan 2T at the time of this exercise.

IN GAME
I found this combination in a booklet from the exersise Battle Griffin in 2009, and tought it was a nice little gem. We already have ATGM Milan in the game and it seems to work well, the missiles also have decent performance and penetration, but the range is not too good. This would work very similarly to similar vehicles such as the UDES 33 wagon, only with much better mobility and less armour.

I haven’t been able to verify it as i cant find any more images of it, but the rear wagon is an variant made to mount an 81mm mortar, not adding this unless there is an image of it tough. Thought that might be interesting
