Too crowded. A 4v4 option would be excellent. Or even 2v2 and 1v1.
Too slow ammunition replenishment. Definitely good to have an unlimited ammo pool considering some aircraft have barely over 100rpg and others have nearly 1000, but 30 seconds of flying in circles in spawn isn’t ideal. Maybe consider an instant ammo reload, infinite ammo, or at least like 5 second replenishment
There should be some way to repair a damaged vehicle. Could be as simple as allowing the players to leave the battle while in their spawn, and have it not count as a death towards the win points nor their respawn limit. But then they still have to pay the SL cost for a new, repaired aircraft.
Consider expanding the BR to also include 12.3, for the F-18As, F-16A, F-20, and M2Ks
As a counter point to 4v4 smaller teams (which will turn this into basically jet strike tornaments), I did suggest slightly larger maps.
Current maps are basically arcade ones with the spawns pushed back. All thats needed is a slightly larger play area so its not as crowded. Would also allow for more 1v1 or 1vX along with 2v2 fights since you have more map space to drag people away from the furball to fight them.
I don’t think there should be a way to repair planes when respawns exist myself. This is a team death match after all.
Expanded br’s would be great along with a BR bracket system, I would love to see this mode for lower Sub sonic br’s like say 8.0 to 9.0 where the Sabres, Migs, G91’s and other stuff can have the same experience.
Unfortunate that this is running parallel with the R-400 event. After grinding 50k points, i don’t really feel like playing War Thunder.
The timing definitely hurts the player numbers.
I don’t think larger maps would help all that much- all it’d do is make it take longer to get to the same singular central furball that will inevitably form
I personally prefer to keep it as it is. Players should be rewarded for damaging enemy aircraft to the point that their flight performance is compromised, forcing the opponent to bail out and respawn in a new plane. In such cases, the attacking player deserves credit for the kill. This also prevents players from simply flying away to avoid combat and abusing repairs.
Perhaps, they could be made into a deadly zone with a timer. For example, players could have 15 to 20 seconds to return to the combat area before being automatically forced to bail out and awarding the opposing team a score.
I was able to log in tonight and I enjoyed this event immensely. As many have said, spawns could be spread out some more, and additional BR brackets added, but other than that I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I didn’t even mind going back to base to reload since the maps are small and it encourages you to regroup with your team.
Good job gaijin, please keep this event around, I want to play it more 🥺
Surprisingly this never happened to me. ARB where it is about to gain position every single battle there are massive furballs. In a mode where it’s about nothing, everyone is hiding or wobbling in front of you denie you the 1v1 dogfight. I have no clue what’s wrong with these player community. lol
This was another surprise to me. I never touched the japanese F-5TH-TCU because i thought it is to weak at 13.0. I laught my a** out. ALL had massive problems to kill this thing, even it was full stock. 2 experienced players in rafales on enemy team needed 1 kill to win, we were 3 players left. They tried me 3 times without success, went up in the sky to fight my teamates in F-16s.
What really shined through: An Ace crew is a massive advantage at toptier. I flew most of the time stock planes with expert crew to spade them a little bit. No chance against Ace crew pilots. I tried the same in full spaded planes with expert crew. No chance neither. The second you black out or have to open your turn to do not so, they bite you in the a**. Every “unexperienced” player should have this in mind before judging a plane bad.
@Smin1080p_WT Sorry for pinging you because I know you are probably busy, but do you know if there are any plans of making this event a regular thing?
Since the community response to this event has been so great (so many people have enjoyed it and are asking for it to run longer or to become a regular weekly or permanent event/game mode) it would be really nice to have at least some information on when or if this mode will return at all?
Perhaps only as an mode that runs at the weekend or something like that?
