Bullet Hell Returns Today, With Changes!

Why is that?
So to use 3 respawns you have to have 3 planes in 3 different slots?

You can use backup for 3rd respawn.

so why is there a two vehicle requirement when backups work on a single vehicle?

F-15A, F/A-18s, F-14A , F-16A Block 10s…F-20A for someone that has it. Even if the last 2 are 12,3 you can easily uptier them for 12,7 BR …and even in 13,7 uptier they can be pretty solid in a gunfight.
Imagine in the previous one i played Netz and it was pretty valid against 14+s …

Let’s gooo, fun mode and the fact that it returned for the 2nd time is promising.

Firstly it’s great too see it return again, I will enjoy having some simple fun in this guns only mode.

However one change I really do not like right off though.

Why do we have to take 2 vehicles into battle and why is each slot limited to only 2 spawns when using a backup?

The beauty of this mode was how simple and fun it was, people picked a plane they wanted to fly and got 3 respawns. Now you only get to spawn in twice for one plane before you are forced to use your other crew slot (which may possibly contain a vehicle you don’t wish to use)

In my case when I choose to fly something like the F5E or F-16 I wish to only fly that specific plane like how the previous playtest was, not to only get 2 spawns in it before I am forced to use a different plane.

I would ask that you change the respawn mechanic to still let you spawn in 3 times with the same plane regardless of the second crew slot. In other words, let people use the second aircraft in their lineup only if they wish to, please don’t make it mandatory.

Using backups to respawn is a interesting change however not all people, and specifically players who main ARB have lots of them to spare. Plus they may not wish to use their backups in this mode. In my opinion the respawn mechanic should be reverted to the “Pay an SL cost to spawn” style of the previous playtest, as that was much more suited to this game mode.

Cheers

This is an awesome and genuinely positive change, and I’m glad to see that our feedback from last time was taken into account.

Hmm, I don’t think I’d fully support this change unless the reward multipliers and activity calculation coefficients are increased to properly compensate for the added risk. With the gameplay becoming more punishing, the rewards need to justify that risk.

It’s unclear whether this means an increase or a decrease in overall rewards, and I’m really hoping it’s an increase to help attract and retain players in this mode. Can anyone confirm which direction this is going?

Otherwise, there’s no point for me to go back and play if I know I won’t be getting the same-ish rewards as we do in air RB matches if we get a good number of air kills.

Bummer, can we expect this event to be available more frequently? I’d much rather see it appear on a regular schedule rather than waiting two or three months between runs.

"The return of the Cannon Dogfight event is certainly a good thing, but I feel the fairness of this iteration is somewhat lacking.

Requiring players to have at least two vehicles to participate ensures minimum activity, which is positive, but it doesn’t necessarily lead to a better player experience.

Previously, Attackers and Fighters had separate Spawn Point calculations in Ground Battles until that boundary was removed last year. This means British and Italian mains likely assigned their Gripen and Harrier to separate crew slots. However, with the release of the Typhoon—which follows the old classification logic—players naturally assigned it to the same slot as the Gripen (since the fighter slot is usually the highest-level one for players who play both Air and Ground).

The problem arises now: if a UK/IT player wants to fly the Typhoon, their second vehicle—which ideally should be the JAS39C—requires a massive expenditure of Silver Lions for training and Expert qualification (320k and over 1m respectively), or even Golden Eagles for crew XP. There is no denying that crew levels are a crucial factor in cannon dogfights.

I suggest that when this event returns, vehicles in the lineup should be granted ‘Level 75 + Ace Qualification’ within the match to make it fairer. It is simply not a worthwhile investment for players to spend huge amounts of SL on something that is critical only for a temporary event (even if it is usable in top-tier Air Arcade).

In short, this event feels like an ‘unfriendly shock’ to budget-conscious Air RB players."

Some planes like the Ariete are going to dominate this mode (Ariete is normal air RB is cracked already), they needs to be a few mode specific BR changes to balance it.

Some I suggest;

  • Ariete 10.0

  • A10 early/late/C 10.0

  • F5A/C 11.0

  • F5E 11.3

  • CLmk6 9.3

  • Yak 38 9.0

  • Su 25 BM/T/39/SM3 10.7

  • Jaguar IS 10.7

  • AMX 10.3

  • All F104s max of 10.3

  • Tornados lower in general

  • Gripen A 12.3

By no means an exhaustive list but just some examples I could think of.

Literally this, can’t play my top tier UK because I put all my top tiers in first slot cause it’s the only one with high crew and I don’t have 310000SL to crew the Gripen in second slot. Also when I was playing 11br US literally all my team left half way through

i’m curious what feedback that was given that said to add the minimum requirement that limits most arb players (the main audience in the first place) that only have a single crew slot in any of the nations they grind and drop a spawn system that’s just worse for a mode like this (arb players do not use backups either…?), just reeks of tone deafness

Can Aircraft with gunpods be used like the f4c and j and the a6e?

Nvm I can’t read

Really nice, except why on earth dis you add the two crew slot limit, even most extremely experienced players dont use two crew slots on air because spending an extra 2-3 million SL on training and crew levels is just silly. Revert the two crew limit, it just makes the playbase smaller and you might aswell of not released it atp, because i know a very large portion of the playerbase wont be spending multiple millions of SL to recrew their jets on untrained crews.

ariete, j7e and EFT-only mode

The mimimum vehicle requirement is really really bad
Vast majority of players only have a single high tier aircraft in their lineup and only have a single good crew so forcing them to crew an aircraft and to level up said crew just to play this mode is very unfair

Especially considering how playing this mode without a max level or even an expert crew is almost impossible at high BRs

Im tryna save SL and now i have to crew planes in another slot to play? 😔

And if i wanna spawn 3 times without three jets i have to use backups? 😔

Hello. It has come to my attention that this mode now uses BR ranges to determine matchmaking. Since BRs are determined by loadouts as well as performance, I propose to include bombing objectives to make the matches more balanced.

Thank you.
