No, you dont radar missiles don’t go for flares, you defeat them with notching multipath or kinematically. If you launch 2 at a time 1 notch will defeat both.
Multiple missiles only make sense against helicopters with their magical stealth

Direct hit to helicopters will likely cause enough damage to any heli to make it unable to fulfill their mission(that Is all the same for ka52).
Not destruction though it depends but man pads don’t often completely destroy helis
Yeah it’s absurd, the rotors should be a radar strobe light
I just had a game, so the helis with the new fnf missles just stay sit on the airfield spam missles land reload wiped entire team and and nobody can do anything about it .
i feel like they should have waited a bit more on the FnF missiles (lmur/jagm-MR , cm502)
Exact same happens with Russian teams, Mi28 pop out, shits 8 lemurs and goes down, immune to IR or radar missiles. And good luck sneaking up to it with fighter jet, when it has its own search radar.
The “OP” complaints died down the fastest I think I’ve ever seen after it was actually ingame
Against slm u can just run away if you are 10km+, (with f15e of course idk about others)
Everyone kinda agreed that radar spaa would just underperform and be easy to notch/multipath, from the previous update the only good SPAA was the only non radar one.
But the Buk is broken at its core and a long range AA can’t just work in war thunder’s poststamp maps, even if they somehow fixed all the bugs it would still be a clunky, big and slow AA.
It’s unlikely we are ever going to get a new SPAA and for the time being the Pantsir is just better, sad to see the buk underperform but it would never have worked in the first place, just like the S300 or Patriot wouldn’t work either.
I notice that if you spread out the launchers a bit and launch one from each one usually hits as one missile might get notched but the other one won’t, that and both launchers provide DL for the missiles so it’s harder to notch both at the same time
does it even work like that in game atm ?
Missile and radar crossfire? yes.
However tiny map size is still going to be an issue, as you can’t really get enough separation between launchers
i doubt both the launcher’s radar work at the same time along with the main raid.
It does, if you press the radar lock after the main radar locks you’ll see another scan rate appear that kind of looks like the pantsir track scan, instead of just the slow 360 it has an added 60 degree zone that scans fast at the same time
idk its a bit weird when i do it sometimes there is an extra 60* zone that scans fast , sometimes only the target gets scanned ? like a 5* zone and even that scans slowly or its fast like the pantsir. i think only 2 radars are being used at a time not all 3.
multipathing would make those missiles really too op since this is the only way of avoiding them in med ranges
its easy to notch them. unless u are within 5-8km.
I disagree. I think Jets that aren’t extremely close to the battlefield would still be able to notch fine but helis wouldn’t be invincible anymore.
true but most of the jets (all nato side) don’t have anything even close to have a fast and far range missile so it would make only russkies jets to “profit” from those changes… this would make them fly low and come in close and then still risk a death because of no standoff capabilities
If gaining gave western jet’s modern age munitions it would be already a good start, Rafael’s are the sole ones, ef2k are stuck with gimped brimstones, Israeli and american jet’s it’s either stone age or ljdam
