Buff the (Top-Tier) M1A2 Abrams!

I don’t understand how the US M1(A2) Abrams can be anymore weaker then the Leopard 2s, T-90s, T-80s, and top tier Chinese tanks. One of the big issues with the Abrams is it’s “front composites” armor thickness. I don’t understand how it’s thickness is only (360mm) thick when other MBTs are about 2 times as thick. I personally think it’s time for a buff of about (630mm)-ish thickness for the “front composite” armor. Please give it a buff.

Wasn’t that a single MBT series that received good amount of buffs recently?

The Abrams tanks will continue to be underpowered, and here’s Gaijin’s reasoning: there’s no concrete evidence that the Abrams was built with this specific type or amount of armor, or any other factors that would justify strengthening it in the game.

HOWEVER, if you happen to know of any document, even if it’s created or falsified, for the following nations: China, Russia or Germany please share it with the community so it reaches the devs, because it will be reviewed and, after a few days’ work, will likely be applied to the tanks mentioned in these documents. We value truth and the strengthening of vehicles within the game! :)

Whether accurate or not, the Abrams tanks are modeled as-is now. If you want changes to be made, you’ll need to provide supporting documentation (non-classified) for the devs to take action. There may be changes to reload speed etc in the future if required, but this is done as and when the devs deem it necessary.

Why would it recieve a fantasy buff when IRL the hull armour is only that thick

At least the ZTZ have better gun depression than the T series tanks because of how the gun is positioned

As if we haven’t, tons of documents have been brought forward yet we see no change. But the Chinese leak classified documents and all the sudden their round is better irl so we MUST implement it. But giving US an accurate model or even its real round? NO NO NO, “to advanced” yet we see T90Ms and 2a7vs which are decades ahead in tech.

There is an equal amount of information for the T-90M or Leopard 2A6+, they simply made up the armor values for these vehicles and they could just as easily do the same for the M1A2+ models.

Engine sound is too loud though, that’s not even a meme for the meme board.

been on a downhill playing usa top tier, this made my day xd

There at least 3 bug report that would effect M1A2 that already got accept and still waiting for Gaijin to make a change.

fuel cell bulkhead thickness (would buff UFP and LFP effectiveness)
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/xK4GPBS59dUL

M1A2 - M1A2 SEPv2 improved turret side armour (Buff turret side armour against CE threat by 250% )
This would also tell us why they don’t put ARAT-1 on turret side If they already have adequate CE protection.
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/ULvSC60SVBFw

As for turret ring. Dev said that “Creating such a report can help us more accurately adjust our protection model of the specified vehicle, but it does not guarantee that the information specified in it will be implemented in the game.”

As many already know sometimes Gaijin take a very long time to change things. And thus we’re still waiting

Weight increase with ARAT-1 on the side of the turret would make it impossible to properly self-recover tanks without the help of the improved M88 recovery vehicle due to weight increase.

Flight model reports and other issues are resolved in two weeks tops.
