The guns are nothing special and the AP has almost half the filler of Scharnhorst’s 12" AP
Anyone who plays naval knows just how much players flock to meta vehicles which also means thanks to the smaller playerbase at 8.0 this is rarely getting downtiered and will spend most its time sucked into 8.7
And yes its technically a historical rate of fire but gaijin has over and over again stated reload is used as a soft balancing factor and since naval doesn’t count reloading elevation limitations for guns most ships in-game are firing far faster than they could achieve in-real life so give it the ability to compete with what it’ll face.
As it stands gaijin put a lot of work and money into a ship thats completely DOA and won’t be played by anyone.
This seems sensible to me. No need to make it 30 seconds or anything but the existing RoF is ridiculous. Especially when you compare it to ships that didn’t even finish building like Soyuz and Kronstadt having really fast rates of fire.
It seems that despite the fact that the team itself was one of the best of its time, at least by the Axis and on par or even superior to Bismarck, Roma will be treated as a second-rate team.
If it’s maximum achieved ROF is indeed a 30 second reload it should have it.
Gaijin is incredibly arbitrary with which ships they give their actual ROFs, eg all the US standards fire at rates vastly below what they achieved and gaijin continues to deny USN documents stating they should be faster.
Its very much so worth a bug report if there is an Italian document that states the Littorio class’s 381s can fire faster but I would personally recommend getting as many sources into a singular report at once given how fickle gaijin is about these reloads. Would really need a irrefutable uppercut of a report to succeed which is annoying.
Doubt that they will reduce it, Italian WW2 destroyers have the same issue being completely outclassed in RoF (especially Soldati) and that story with Minisini cannons/turrets having worse RoF on Italian ships compared to same Minisini on Soviet (because each naval forces have different values in sources). Logic and balance doesn’t work in the naval part of the game unfortunately.
Another way to help the ship if Gaijin stays strongly against the buff would be to implement more shells with worse muzzle velocity, but faster reloading, representing usage of less bags.
PS at least penetration report has been accepted, so hopefully it will help a bit.
