Buff JA37DI for top tier fights

I would recommend to buff up the new JA37DI both premium and tech tree version so atleast they can withstand the fight on top tier not to mention we have a literal satellite destroyer (f15E) and much more missile bus jets with high tech radar while JA37DI just use mere 4-way RWR and DL-less radar which lack capability to use rb99 to its full potential. With that being said even a 80$ premium could have a worse performance and tool against even F4F ICE which is literally same br.

With this I conclude to only recommend upgrading RWR and radar system which could be a fair trade for the fox-3 era unless if Gaijin kind enough to give out aim 9m in its weaponry as well

there’s nothing to upgrade in terms of avionics. thats just how it is. maybe you could make a case for that prototype HMS but thats about it.
AIM-9 “M” was reported already

ja37di has hmd protoype?

Nah, no one will buff the equipment just because you yourself agreed to buy this miracle, no one forced you and before buying you could see what you would spend the money on.

It fully corresponds to its characteristics = BR

It should have its datalink channels added which it’s currently missing. On top of this, I would suggest adding the HMD that was tested as a plug-and-play system, as it would enhance the aircraft’s capabilities. If this still isn’t enough, then I could see an Aim-9Li (or whatever the upgraded 9Ls the Swedish were proven to have before the gripen) could be added as an option ingame.

If you fell for the €80 bait then i have limited sympathy, no reason for it to be much better tbh. Only fix would be to place it at 13.0 with the F-4F but besides that ig it could get an HMD but that only goes so far.

would only work in a limited frontal arc since it was connected to an IRST/EOTS system on the nose

Ignore the premium version; talk about the tech tree version. I’ve been waiting for the RB99 Viggen D for ages. Now that I’m flying it, I’m like, “Damn, I can’t beat anything in a dogfight because I fall out of the sky if I try to turn.”
My father flew the JA-37D and C, and he says the energy loss during sustained turns is ludicrous, This might just be becaus of the keyboard input ofc.

The problem is not about to buff them or not, the issue is that the JA37DI goes against the F15E. F15E can cruise at 2.5 Mach, plus they can fire AAM from 60+km away. The JA37DI is a good plane, and is extremely dangerous in the right hands, but the problem is that the enemies it faces are just too OP for what the JA37DI should be up against.

I would suggest either move the JA37DI to 12.3 so it does not go against F15E or move the F15E to at least 14.3

We need another BR decompression with these new jets being added, they’re just on new/higher level of gameplay compared to 3rd gen viggen/f4 ice but with amraams. There should be at least 1.0 gap between f15e/i and 3rd++ gen aircrafts

I’m also using ja37di, just opened the server played 28 games of 13.7 before going into 1 game of 12.0

Basically every game is a top room, which is deadly for this plane

i havent yet grinded the tech tree plane but i think this could work just fine in SIM, just a thought. there you wont be fighting any 13.3-13.7 planes.

also if there was HMD and IRST tested on this i think they should give it even one of those.

i dont know why are you expecting the jas37di to be good theres a reason its a fodler its just a bad jet and thats it its a delta wing so bye bye bye speed in turns and a bad engine to gain back speed. its just a bad jets thats all + you have the grippen A in the same br so just use that

Unfortunately you are wrong, ja37d is a pretty normal airplane, but it sits at 12.0, but unfortunately you can’t say the same about models with amraams.

you missed my entire point also i never called the ja37d bad i called the jas37di bad.

Well assuming it has the same barriers as the IR-OTIS camera were looking at +75/-20 and 130 degrees to both sides

Is the horrendous energy retention realistic or not? It seems excessive—literally falling out of the sky when turning and unable to win any dogfight because of this.

My father was a Viggen JA-37D pilot during the '90s and early '00s, and he thinks it’s excessive. Then again, this might be due to keyboard turning causing retarded aoa unlike in real life where you can manage your pull better.

I’m curious if the current JA37D’s RWR is correct, the in-game JA37D doesn’t have a model of the RWR display.

im not sure if the 4 zone thing is realistic.
the manual for exact rwr details is still classified afaik but one of the ones that are declassified have a page where it shows 4 lights (top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right) as rwr related lights. they’re around the center radar display.
i guess gaijin uses that as a source and they decided that it only gets 4 zones… i find it hard to believe that they went backwards with the JA compared to the AJ/AJS
