British Weapon Systems - Technical data and discussion

I use to quite enjoy running it, was niche but you oculd do some quite funny things with it.

But now… Im hard pressed to think of any reason to run it over the Rapier.

Nice, I’ve been stuck between the Tamron and the Sigma. Literally every other comparison between to 2 swaps points all the time. But I’ve got some time to go before I do buy one so I can keep looking.

Yeah, took me a week to decide between the Tamron and Sigma. My only advice would really be to go with the one that is the better deal at the time of buying.

I went with the Tamron because my 24-70 and 70-200 are Tamron and I liked them matching :D

But we probably should take this to off-topic or PMs

Okay so, I decided to fly my Tornado out in Sim after these recent ARM changes and they’re performing a lot worse than they used to in my experience. I used to be able to score 1-3 ItO kills on airfields and anything the ALARMs touched would get vaporized.

Now not only can I barely get anything through (and this is all with the munition interception logic from NE in mind btw), hits on Gepards for example are no longer guaranteed kills (I had a few that simply damaged components on it).

Was I just terribly unlucky in this match or has anybody else noticed this performance downgrade?

knowing gaijin we’ll get 6km LOSBR martlets, limited to 10 on the wildcat, with the lowest speed they can get away with, at a BR that makes them essentially useless

edit: yeah unless it comes with like, IIR Martlets I think it’s gonna be pretty eh, the Superhind sits at 10.3 with fewer LOSBR missiles which are also slower with less range and no proxy fuse, while also getting an IRCM module.

It might be ok at 10.7 considering the only other option there is the Lynx, but I don’t think it’ll have enough going for it at 11.7 to be preferable to the Apache.

UK ground has nothing between 10.7 and 11.7 so anything 11.0+ will have to compete with the AH Mk.1

Personally I think the best case scenario is having it sit at 12.0 with 20 9km range LOSBR Martlets, that way they’d functionally be slightly worse Vikhrs but you get more of them in return, and there’d actually be a reason to try the 12.0 lineup (that or 20 9km IIR martlets at top tier)

yes because Britain can’t have anything nice and op for once

We had that, the Fox, and the entire community was demanding to make the RARDEN even worse by a considerable margin.

The Snail wont let us have that again.

Dont forget barely enough pen to kill an unarmoured truck

Im just worried Gaijin is going to go “20x Starstreaks, well that makes it 11.7”

And don’t forget about the Churchill 7 with its APHE moving up to 5.0

i mean… RARDEN APDS is the only APDS not using the JDM derived formula right now

It’s still using the old pre-set values, which is why its pen drops off so severely at range

eh, the Spike gets 900mm pen from ~1.3k TNTe, ZT3A2 has 2.8kg explosive mass giving 3.6kg TNTe and 1000mm pen, and Martlet gets a 3kg warhead so 800mm+ wouldn’t be unreasonable

but this is gaijin so the 3kg warhead will somehow be 2.5kg of empty space and 500g TNT with 150mm pen :D

Gaijin:

“Its a HE warheads designed for light attack boats, so 37mm of pen”

(though my biggest fear is the Wildcat getting Sea Venom and ending up at 12.7)

it’d be cool to see the sea venom and you get 4 at most so I don’t think it would warrant that high a br…

FnF = 12.7+ at the moment

Even if its lower because 4 vs 8… I cant see it below 12.3, which might as well be 12.7

It had one but because gaijins model doesnt fit it they say it cant. I own a brochure that literally shows that the hawk 200 can use one. even the Hawk Trainers which predate the 200s by several years use a 30mm ADEN gunpod.

If they arent going to give it the gunpod it can use, they need to move it down by a whole BR, the base 200 is comically weak, let alone one without a gun at bare minimum

Heres a T.1a with one for reference

In fairness they are not denying that the Hawk 200, or any of the previous Hawks, could use a gun pod. They are saying that specifically the two prototype Hawk 200s have some sort of bulge under the forward fuselage, which no other Hawks have, which appears to interfere with where the gunpod is mounted.

You certainly could argue that the front of the gunpod could be modified to wrap around the bulge. But it does appear Gaijin’s claims are not entirely unreasonable.

Unfortunately IIR Martlets would be even more fake than Kh-38MT, so I personally don’t think they should be added.

fairly sure this is for the ammunition on the internal adens from the first iteration. Greatly doubt they would have been that short sighted as to block full backwards compatability including gunpods, BAE isnt Mikoyan.

If it’s only shown in brochures and never carried in real service, Gaijin won’t add it.Yet they made an exception for Kh-38MT, which was nothing more than a mockup.

There was talk of the RDA having atleast one internal gun fitted alongside the radar but not sure if that went any further. IIRC a guy was in contact with some people who worked on it but was asked that instead of sharing their emails to instead pass on their details to Gaijin so that they could talk directly.

Doubtful on whether they actually bothered to investigate or not.
