It’s no secret that British light vehicles have been somewhat neglected over the past 10 years or so, with the bulk of the mobility in the tree being provided by the South African subtree. However, this seems to have caused some misconceptions about Britain lacking options in terms of light vehicles, when in reality that could not be further from the truth, and Britain is still missing a huge quantity of light vehicles, from WW2, through the cold war, and to the modern day. So I am making this post so that as a community we can contribute and compile a list of British light vehicles for potential future additions.
For me, I would love to see the Saladin 90 and Scorpion 90, two iconic British cold war lights, but up-gunned to have significantly more bite than their usual low pressure 76mms provide.
(Small note - this thread is for the discussion of British vehicles made/modified/operated for/by Britain. It is increasingly difficult to discuss British vehicles on these forums without the subject being quickly derailed into which foreign nation deserves its various vehicles in the tree, if people are interested in discussing light tanks/armoured cars/IFVs from other nations then a separate thread can be started)
I’d like to point out the addition in the last 2 years of Fox, Badger, Scimitar, Ajax, Desert Warrior, Harry Hopkins, and the SARC Mk IVa, in order to show that British light tanks are now in fact being added fairly consistently.
That said, more CVR(T) please, and the remaining Lend-Lease equipment (Chaffee, Locust, various Stuarts) would be wonderful.
They nerf the Fox every update
Badger is missing their missiles
Scimitar is just a reskinned Fox and is treated like it
Ajax is missing plenty of their stuff, and is probably the weakest IFV at 10.7
Desert Warrior is sadly the best IFV we have, which is also one of the worst ones
Harry Hopkins is too low to care about
SARC is honestly the best thing on this list, I’m surprised Gaijin hasn’t nerfed it because how dare Britain have something good.
Although, I would love to see George (the Ferret), Eland 60, as well as the other crazy concoctions used during the Rhodesian Bush War (including throwing ZSU cannons on a police car)
Though vehicles like the Fox and Scimitar (let alone a few that havent even been added yet like the Scorpion and Saladin) should have probably been added 5 or 6 years ago, not in the past 2. And Ajax (or at least an equivalent like the BAE FRES) probably should have been added 1-2 years ago (around the time Puma got added)
So whilst yes, they have been playing catch up, still doesnt mean its not all been quite late and there is a lot still to go

Let me know if I missed anything, happy to add it in. I have tried to avoid any vehicle with a weapon worse than a US .50 cal. So no Vickers .50 cals. I’ve also tried to avoid vehicles that could be considered a Tank Destroyer such as the Vickers Light Tank with 2-Pdr.
