British high tier Squadron tank options / Petition to NOT add T-90S to Britain

I dont even have the first in the line researched yet, and Ive got no interest too go back and use lower BR vehicles to get them.

The Indian SHar with Magic would be much more unique and different for the tree… Rly frustrating

The only good thing about this situation is that because they chose the T-90S for the squadron vehicle, the Jordanian Challenger with the Falcon turret (not the SPAA, different thing) could potentially be main tree after the TTD. Otherwise I don’t see the ZA line having a future in terms of expanding into higher BRs without something random tacked on to the end, because at least the Falcon turret has a technological link with ZA.

The issue with SA as a tree is it was added as a dead end, they literally added a dead on arival tree, then focused half of the british dev time on it so there is little wonder we have stagnated for literally 3 years which is the last time we got a light tank the mess that is the vfm-5

For about 9 ish?

The SA tree was doa, it had the end of hte line from the start and it is mediocre XD

Yeah, there was a few interesting items that could have been tucked into other trees, but the entire mass of a line was what killed the idea and why so many are agaisnt the T-90

More like 10.7 or 11.0, maybe even 11.3.

This is the Falcon turret I’m referring to, it has an L/50 smoothbore 120mm cannon with automatic loading and a turret with extremely low footprint. Basically, it takes what the Challengers are already known for - hull-down with a quick reload - and takes it to an extreme.

Oooh. Yeah see, that is what would have been an interesting SQV instead of the T-90. But yeah, glad it could now be a TT (but more likely event or BP vehicle though)

tragically so. it seems to be a common theme with British vehicles for some reason that they come too late to be meaningful and end up being an obstruction to players grinding rather than something useful and a tool to a player

It’s mentioned in the post that started the thread in the first place, but that’s real far back now so I don’t blame you for missing it.

Do we have any idea what the armour on that turret would look like?

and its the top poll option!

Because its the logical choice to anyone who wants to make bank and add something interesting XD

I don’t, no. Considering it is basically a moving gun breech with some composite on the front I wouldn’t be too hopeful, but survivability comes not only from the armor but having a low turret footprint and the crew being generally housed in the hull.

I voted EE-T2 because it’s Brazilian heh

basically AGS with even less armour but a 120mm instead, sort of?

The Rooikat MTTD is good I use it in my 10.3 and 11.3 lineup for scouting to get my CAS 😈 though I’m confused to as why they didn’t add the 120mm version.

The Olifant mk2 is actually really good. It’s got Gen 2 commander and gunner thermals with 105mm DM63. Though there is still work to be done on its armour implementation still gaps between the external and main array

The link to the Vickers MBT series makes the Osorio very interesting to me, however it probably wouldn’t actually be any better than the Vickers Mk.7, so that line ending off at 10.3 doesn’t have a solution there (hence why it would be a pretty good squadron vehicle.) I can’t remember if it was here but I saw someone float the Vickers Mk.7/2 as a squad tank option. Personally I would rather see it in the main tree foldered with the Mk.7 as it really doesn’t do anything too different.

Oh it’s got more armor than an AGS. This is an MBT-sized turret, and if nothing else the block of composite around the gun barrel does seem pretty thick. I don’t have an estimate for thickness and don’t intend to try and make one.
