To being captured by this moster
btw. it’s already modeled
Only hovercraft things™
If paper-plans were admitted, Britain would be King among Minors as they can get N3, which would finally solve firepower problem of Royal Navy
I’ll never get the hype for the N3, especially when the L3 is right there.
L3 has better armor, the same guns, and a conventional turret layout, while having the same speed.
N3 has decapping plate, so it has better armor on magazine side and same(or better in WT mechanism) on machinery
That’s why I prefer N3. I really love unconventional turret layout, like Mariya, Kommuna, Nelson, Rodney.
Also, N3 is the final design of 18’’ battleship design, not the L3, and everything without boiler and transmission was designed, unlike L3 which ended in preliminary design stage.
anyone have the armour layout plans for lion?
There is box you just didn’t find it. It’s practically same scheme as Vanguard.
Feel free to provide a screenshot since you have found it
And vertical parts of this.
But if you mean this “box” on Wales it’s ain’t protecting the magasines cause shell storage is around them not inside. Besides that 25.5mm is not enough if explosion is on that plate.
Your first 5 images are the torpedo protection backing plates (exept the third one)
Magazine is completely encased in the armoured box. Shell storage is separate
It is extra splinter protection, helps definetly at longer ranges

meanwhile Lions B turret barbette is not even modelled downwards
Show on Wales where that “box” is and how you can reach it with the shell.
So how you reach it?
Torpedos, Shell room explosions, plunging fire
Take a pick
Does it matter for it being missing on Lion?
NO
You are a blithering idiot
kill you anyways
come from above, so side plates couldn’t’ help you
You can not find that distance where you shot could pen main belt on that angle that shell reach side wall of charges stowage, you need 30+ km just for right angle and on that range even Yamato could not pen your main belt.(ever heard about ship " zone of immunity")
This plate is is probably for that purpose there.(it’s above waterline)
So probably engineers just not designed those plates around stowage on purpose.
No need to fling insults.
Most torpedoes you’re gonna see in a battleship are likely a death sentence anyway. Especially Type 93s. Lesser torps are a gamble whether they do something or not.
Concept of plunging fire is to get over the armor belt. So the horizontal plates in this regard are worthless.
However, I haven’t looked at Lion’s vertical protection yet but the 25mm shrapnel plates are concerning to me from the pics I’m seeing.
