Britain Naval Tree - What’s left to be added for all BRs

I thought you meant this post, my bad.

Minotaur we could easily get, everything for it existed and they were designed and ordered, but Neptune the turrets were never made because of all the issues they ran into which might mean she gets denied.
Instead I would like to see Liverpool’s refit (that sadly never happened due to cost) where they replaced the 3x triple turrets with the twin automatics.

I’d still like to see our other cruisers + some other refits of existing classes. We’re rather lacking in that department and in our destroyers. My lovely M class still hasn’t been added :(
As for our frontline light cruisers, we have a weird early build but with late 3d model (plated over hangars but no radar) Southampton subclass and that’s it. We need to get a Gloucester and Edinburgh subclass (Liverpool and Belfast’s subclasses) to add some bulk and better features. Gloucesters had the improved turrets, superstructure and armour with Edinburgh adding more to that plus additional AA guns.
We are also missing the Crown Coloney and Minotaur (WW2 version and the hull Tiger was built on) classes, basically war emergency Town classes.
Also can we please get Exeter in her post-Plate refit and the modernised Ajax. They’re too gorgeous to not add.

Oh I do agree. Would be nice to see HMS Fiji and HMCS Ontario at some point as well as additions like a County-Class Destroyer like HMS Glamorgan or a Type 21 Frigate like HMS Ardent or a Type 22 Frigate like HMS Broadsword

Ehh… I think 3x Town-class is enough for now personally.

Yeah HMS Minotaur would be hilarious.

I am hoping for HMS Exeter as our Premium Heavy Cruiser at some point

I know they wouldn’t be of much use, but I kinda always hoped we could get the Canopus and Swiftsure classes tbh.

(Also why doesn’t the coastal tree have 3 lines yet?, seriously we have plenty of coastal boats to work with that are not in game yet.)

I just wish they fired ap shells in game as I feel they would really benefit from being able to punch up a bit more especially as they have moved the 6 inch gun ships up

Did they have proper AP rounds IRL?

I think 3x Town-class is enough for now personally.

Only 1 is in the techtree though and the two (better) ones are premium / squadron vehicles.

Yeah HMS Minotaur would be hilarious

Yes I would like to see Minotaur '47 at some point but I was talking about the Minotaur/Swiftsure class that were built.

Perhaps, still. If given the choice, id take some other classes over them for now. Something like a County-Class destroyer would be a LOT of fun

I am not 100% sure I was kind of hoping that since tiger uses ap in game they would also be able to use ap

I believe one of the planned Neptunes was converted from the ship preceding particularly Bellerophon and that ship had its keel laid down, very much stretches the rules and I can’t find out clearly if the first 2 other ships were laid down as intended in 1945 before cancellation in mid 1946.

Didn’t know about liverpools refit, gimme…

In my book HMS Vanguard by R.A. Burt, he briefly mentiones the existance of a further improved shell which weighed 1.938lb compared to the 6crh which weight 1.920lb.
Did anyone else mention such a shell?

In terms of cruiser designs: apperently there was serious work being done on a 9x8inch design in 1941. With the DNC ordering the first of those ships on 10th of Februrary 1941. Apperently also some drawings exist according to Norman Friedman

I haven’t read anything other than its apparent description, i’ll see if there’s any mention of it in anything i’ve got.

I asked Naval historian Dr Alexander Clarke about this and the 9.2" design, he mentioned there would be some books coming out on them including the drawings in the near future. They’ve coined the names the ‘Admiral’ and ‘Churchill’ classes and apparently a prototype 8"/45 MK.X (i think) gun was built.

Churchill really was a strong supporter of the designs as he wanted heavy cruiser killers, primarily designed to kill the Admiral Hippers and in pairs challenge the Deutschlands and D-class.

12’’ inch design would be more go to me as 8’’ version would still use SAP.
And 12’’ gun was also made.
AFAIK there’s quite a bunch of light battleship or super cruiser with 12’’ design, which would work like improved HMS Invincible in game.

That’s a misinformation, all 6crh APC weights 1938lbs, only 4crh weights 1920lbs

The UK really has a vast array of cruisers with partial construction of elements, but unfortunately for many information is scarce.

I’m sure it will be in the national archives, I just have no idea where.

12" would be nice, but I anticipate triple 8 or 9 inch cruisers would have the gameplay advantage with higher RoF.

Isn’t it a 50 calibre gun instead of 45, as in keeping with the BL 8-inch Mk.VIII?

Uhhhh probably, I’ll be honest I haven’t looked at those cruisers for a very long time, but would likely be a 50 cal yeah now I think about it.

seems like rodney is still having its old unsinkability problems
