Too OP for a 7.0 premium.

I just read that the four 16 inch guns intended for the Lion class that were made, were used FOR TRIALS on the Isle of Grain and Shoeburyness between 1945 and 1947. Including flash less propellant trials.

Do we have any original documents on that?

Anyone got ideas for the coastal branch?

Im hoping for a SAM equipped frigate like a Type 21/22 at some point sooner rather than later, but I dont really know my PT Boat/Sub chasers all that well.

I’m more well versed in mine warfare ships but I’m not entirely sure on PT’s. I already mentioned a few in the vanguard thread.

Would arrow class patrol boats work for low tier?

Probably

ZA and India are best for this. Oman also. Vesper thornycroft and other UK companies built loads of very good vessels for coastal. The uk just didn’t really buy them as we haven’t got a use for them.

I’m sure the UK itself can do fine with larger vessels (corvettes, frigates, moniters, minesweepers, trawlers etc) but I’ll take your word on the patrol and pt boats.

The UK has never operated corvettes in the modern sense. Minesweepers do exist but only with .50 cals. But frigates yes but India also provides so potentially very powerful options in that regime.

Main area of interest here is definitely corvettes and patrol boats

I should’ve clarified ww2 corvettes to be honest

Aus+NZ have a suprising amount of corvettes, minesweepers, and small craft, mostly being local builds to local designs, or UK builds to unique designs.

Totally not a plug but I have a pending suggestion for a ANZAC coastal subtree, so I’ve done a fair amount of research about this topic.

They must be something to consider as they already have vessels in the tree.
