Britain Naval Tree - What’s left to be added for all BRs

What is the explanation behind the Bismarck RoF because shouldn’t it be significantly slower if it was to be correct

Yeah, a bit disappointing its not even slightly better than Hood at the moment

Any chance of at least Vanguard seeing her 25 second reload?

Im not sure about that, the supercharge rounds are quite a bit better and the armour seems really good

But, the 25 second reload would make it very competitive. With the 25 second reload it could easily be 8.3 instead of 8.0.

Have you ever considered releasing this test range map to the public? I have often seen pictures of it and would love to be able to use it to test on my own time.

What configuration of vanguard are getting? The as built version or as planned version? Because I recall there being some changes made as built in comparison to the as planned

We are getting Vanguard as she was commissioned in 1946

Is there a reason the penetration on the Rodney is so medicore for a 16 inch gun?

The filler is average, the velocity is pretty good and the mass is pretty high. Not even 700mm seems a bit underwhelming compared to the new 16 inch guns being added.

Mass is actually pretty low for 16 inch, resulting massive speed drop during flight.

Light shell, not a particularly high muzzle velocity I believe pen actually higher than IRL. The gun was considered a colossal failure, being only slightly superior to the 15" with such superiority being all but negated with better 15" shells.

Essentially the UK trialled the German guns from WW1 which did the same thing (spoiler they were abysmal), and in a flawed trial found it to be better. As the G3 had been paused with 16.5" and 16" superheavy, after it was cancelled they looked at ways to save weight, which involved a new gun the lightweight 16", and the report saying it was superior had also just come out. So they rushed into it and were committed fully by the time of another report, which showed it was an abysmal philosophy.

There was a development for a better shell in the 1930’s but it was cancelled for being too costly unfortunately. This shell would’ve added weight notably to the shells prior.

The filler being average reduces the rigidity of the shell anyway as it weighs less. The mass is quite low for a 16", 15" guns of the UK are 879kg, 16" here is only 929kg. Other 16" guns like Iowa are 1225kg… and remember its a 16", wider diameter means more surface area means more friction means more speed loss. Mass counteracts this via inertia, hence heavy projectiles having better penetration at range. The velocity is bad too. Most of the good guns ingame with high velocities e.g Richelieu, Littorio, Sovetsky, Iowa all have velocities of between 820 and 870 m/s. Rodney has 788-797 m/s.

Moral of the story, don’t trust the Germans to design a naval gun with the correct philosophy as good as their autoloaders may be. It’s a shame really, the UK was the first to have superheavy projectiles fired at the same MV as normal shells, drastically increasing penetration. But by the time of Rodney, they doubted themselves, and by the time of WW2 they were more concerned with barrel life, so reduced the MV and weight of projectiles for the Lion class.

This shell would have been nice for Rodney, it’s a shame we never made a prototype.

That makes more sense now, thank you for the explanation

Vanguard’s draft in battle is deeper than in the hanger

well why not just make them sit at the correct level in the hanger

Because they don’t have to be the same

I feel not much deeper in the dev server, especially when wave is at low position.

They probably should, but at the end of the day it dosen’t matter much, you don’t get shot at in the hanger

Gaijin adds the ability to “raid” another players hanger and you have to build defences to repell the attack
