Nah, its probably one of those links underneath.

I changed that. It’s fine don’t worry about it, I think a link just got added under the post title.

Japan didn’t have commonwealth or sub-tree options. It’s no way similar.

Technically we don’t either lol commonwealth is not a rule and I don’t even think they’ve officially explained why the Bhishma is in the British tree. I’d make a CF-18 suggestion too, or even an RCAF tree suggestion.

Japan evaluated the F-14, F-15 and F-16 and selected the F-15 as the winner, hence the F-15J.

The UK evaluated the F-14, F-15 and F-16 and selected the F-14 as the winner, and then failed to order any.

Neither country mentioned actually used the aircraft proposed. (F-14(UK) and F-16AJ).

The thing is Japan had literally 0 CAS options while UK already has a few.

but we have no fighter options

Change the word ‘aircraft’ to fighter and the ‘F-2’ to Eurofighter T1, ‘Japan’ to Great Britain and its the same thing

You absolutely do. SAAF JAS39C, Tornado FSP, Sea Harrier FA.2. I have to agree that latter 2 wouldn’t be that competetive but still

wouldn’t call these top tier fighters

Commonwealth is not guaranteed but yes I agree its a better solution than an AJ solution. But the precedent is there.

Interceptor

Strike aircraft

Yes. You’re absolutely right, and you know what i agree with you on the whole. But Gaijin introduced this excuse, not me. If it’s fine for Japan, it’s fine for Britain.

Still completely different. AJ was added for CAS and multirole. UK needs a fighter since they already have good CAS and JAS39C from sub-tree South Africa is the easiest choice for meta top tier addition. There’s no need for brochure F-14.

Yes.

They simply say a lack of a 4th generation aircraft, they technically had the F-4 for CAS. But yes still fair.

No, I hate disagreeing with you, but it’s the same premise.
X nation lacks Y capability which is integral to the game, so rather than leave them without it we have chosen Q aircraft which is mostly historical to fill the Y capability gap, rather than hang them out to dry.

I mean when it comes to these 2 everything depends on their loadouts. Tornado for example would be top tier if only it was the only jet in game with AIM-120C and ASRAAM while everyone else was limited to 9M and 120B.

If they come out and say ‘the UK is liable to receive commonwealth additions so long as no other nations in-game have a stronger claim in order to fill gaps’ or something along those lines for sure I agree with you. But they’ve even gone so far as to emphasise the UK is not a commonwealth tree.

if top tier mean rank 8, that’s true

Yeah I guess but take into account M113 ADATS existence. It’s not a sub-tree, nor is it a commonwealth, yet we have it in game. I belive it will be the same with Canadian Hornets in the future.
