Britain Air Forces

Yeah, Skink and Bosvark within 1 update of each other felt very very random (especially being the same BR initially) , especially as we still dont have anything for 6 or 7.

I just power grinded for the CR2s because I wanted to be able to use the Apache and other aircraft in GRB. Heli EC really is not fun. So I’ve not gotten a lot of stuff for other lines yet, like I’ve not research any on the vickers tanks, the warrior or got the Stormer. I really need to go back and get them, but I just CBA with ground at the moment

I’m not that much into tanks, so I couldn’t tell you if the SA stuff was actually necessary. However it does seem to me that in the modern era britain actually is lacking when it comes to actual light tanks.
Britain does have modern day IFVs (which still haven’t been added, coz gaijin doesnt seem to want to add them) and those cannot be replaced by SA stuff afaik, however the Ratels did fill in for a lack of IFVs at their rank.
The Concept 3 does have alternatives, however none of them seem quite as capable as the Concept 3.
The Eland probably just got added as a SA vehicle because they couldn’t be bothered to add an Irish one (AML-90) instead.

Vickers mk 1 is my favorite 8.0 tank. Fast and quick reload. Allowed me to thrive in the CQB cities as I could play like a rat.

Perhaps, ive also not got a lot of interest in tanks either, I much prefer planes and boats. So maybe they do, maybe they dont. But its stuff like the Scorpion, Saladin, Abbot or even the hillarity that would be a wombat on a jeep that still havent been added

Yeah, probably should go back at some point. Maybe id enjoy that bracket more than top tier. Britain certainly does have a more flushed out line up for 8-8.3

Make things worse the Skink was thee most hyped in Canadian ground vehicle only to be killed within and update. Close enough to it’s release that DOA wouldn’t be wrong.

I’ve never understood the appeal for the skink, maybe im just really bad. But I find that it sucks at SPAA. Planes just move too quickly for it to track. Though maybe thats low crew rank not helping either

Well, as with the Ajax, it seems to me that gaijin simply doesnt care about those
The Scorpion and Abbot definitely have to be extremely low priority, as the both would immensely suffer due to HESH underperforming

I would take the Skink over the Ystervark and Bosvark any day

Yeah… That’s true, but would be good excuse to finally fix HESH

Appolgies for shifting this thread from air to ground. Just remembered what this thread should be about.

To quickly sum up why the tangent. I was using the SA sub tree + additions we’ve gotten for ground as a basis for my major concerns, if not outright fears for the future of Britains air tree, with “commonwealth” additions added, maybe at BRs where we already have good equivalents, for the sake of additions, instead of adding missing British aircraft or patching some of the holes we do have in the air tree.

A few additions would not be bad, maybe even good. But I fear getting exclusively commonwealth aircraft for the forseeable future, and native additions denied because of just recieving a commonwealth BR equivalent

Hunter FGS.74BS would be a good option with AIM-9J’s on extra pylons, plus standarf Hunter armament and probably more (i just saw hunter f.6 with aim9J and flares).

Alternatively put the f.1 down to 8.7 and then at 9.0-9.3 p.1109B (probably 9.0 based on mig 17 and swedish hunter).

Hawk would be a good aircraft to split into late and early variant instead of that stupid TT Sea Harrier.

Can’t really comment on the AA I’d like to see the stormer get Martlet.

The fact that the Gnat couldn’t be 9.7 because of the lack of missiles and flares, but would slam at 9.3 is part of the reason we ain’t got it.

Same goes for the Hawk.

P.1109b makes no sense though they have one job to research vehicles to be added and they don’t when it comes to Britain.

Gunjob for tech tree consultant.

Thatd be a godsend if Gunjob became the consultant

Not sure if the Gnat would be too good for 9.3, it only gets 115 rounds per gun and two 500 lbs bombs or 12 RP-3s as A2G. Its speed isn’t anything out of the ordinary either.
The Hawk would entirely depend on the variant and the armament they are willing to give it.

The P.1109b is something I fully expect to be a event vehicle at this point

Maybe we’d finally get something worthwhile, or even better a goddamn rework of tbe whole tree, removing/foldering the shit and adding in the good stuff we made.

Its kinda funny how a lot of the UK’s problems date back to the 1957 white paper, fuck that guy.

Yes, but 100m/s climb rate on the Gnat bearing in mind the Ariete’s is 40 ish. 100 rivals the mig-19

Hawk would definitely depend but 10.3 with 9L’s and the singular ADEN gunpod would be good.

P.1109B I’m surprised we havent already seen but if we didnt get it TT I’d like that super hunter thing (p.1121) or the superswift simply for a supersonic with missiles but at a lowish br.

The Hawks could be configured for any BR they wanted, just by picking and choosing AAMs and variants. A hawk for the 10.3-10.7 region (with IR only) and a second at 11.0 (with BVR) would be incredibly fun

Doesn’t the MiG-19 have up to 180 m/s climb rate?
Hell, the MiG-19S even gets another gun at the same BR and both the PT and the chinese J-6A carry two R-3S

I’d take it with no missiles at like 8.3-8.7.
