Finally got the Gripen and damn Gripen looks good. I’m all set up to get whatever is next.
Anyone got stock grind tips because looks will not get me kills (or will they?).

I forgot how much of a menace IRCCM missiles are.
I’d like to go 3 minutes without being slammed by a 9M or R73.

Yeah. That’s how it tends to be. Once you have those extra countermeasures you become the flare god.
You have to try and be hit by IR missiles. You can reliability doge them if you know what you’re doing.
The secret technique for those who don’t know is with 9M’s is to continuously pop flares and turn the opposite way to your current turn. That should throw the seeker off as it will be constantly turning off and not have enough time to adjust correctly.
As for the russian ones. They just have an incredibly narrow post launch FOV. Another good flare dump and change in direction with semi frequent flares should do the trick.
And thankfully the Grippen has plenty of flares with those BOL pods.

Yeah I went straight for the BOL’s and pretty much no more deaths to IR missiles.
The gun kills have been my highlights. I generally ignore the stock 9L’s and try and gun people down. Particularly as all the “meta” jets this patch are huge with the exception of the Gripen.

just a heads Up it will most likely be a while before the air tree is completely up, I have been having major issues with the forums since I transferred my account and thus have had to delay the publication of the air tree for a short time, It is still in progress albeit slightly slower.

UK tech tree lack Multirole fighter aircraft with SARH MRAAM 12.3 & Multirole combat aircraft with active radar homing BVRAAM 12.7 before JAS39C Gripen
And lack another interceptor & pure fighter aircraft 10.7 ~ 11.3 gap filling between Lighting F.6 & Tornado F3
Cheetah C can fill that gap very nicely as can the SHar, ideally we would get both as SHar has a historical value but VIFF is super annoying for me to use.
there’s a few options for that we could get, a Tornado F.2A with worse engines, 2 x AIM-9L and no SuperTEMP would be around 10.7/11.0, and then some South african stuff like the Mirage IIICZ/R2Z and the Cheetah E would also sit around that area
Hopefully now the Jag IS is coming at the same BR as the SU-25BM with the Magic 2’s then they will re-evaluate the Jaguar GR.1A hacing AIM-9L’s at 10.3 given the SU-25/A-10/A-6E all have 4 equivalent missiles.
