This is a pretty annoying issue. China also shows the same issue, as well as germany. Sweden too in WW2 (Finland is axis, Sweden is neutral with allied vehicles).
Best approach is making matchmaking rely on subtrees - west germany, italy, taiwan, sweden go to allies; mainland, east germany, hungary and finland go to axis(finland), warsaw (rest).
It’d also help improve sim if we could add the same logic there (you can only use vehicles within the permitted subtree).
Let the matchmaker stick to countries, and keep people out of match making if they carry countries of both sides. A lot of re-programming tho

nearly every match BRs are set to a disadvantage! so WHAT is the actual point! 86% YES EIGHTY SIX percent full uptiers +1br, out of 1000 matches monitored across different BRs and nations.!
So again WHATS THE POINT!
It just means that 6.0 - 7.0 is heavily populated not only by players but also vehicles in that same bracket. There are more vehicles in the 6.0 - 7.0 matchmaker than in 5.0 - 6.0 it seems.

It caused imbalance as well.
Under-BR’d USA and Japanese aircraft because Japan could only face USA, which lowered USA stats as well.
Too restrictive for wanting to play with friends.
Too imbalanced as it causes stat imbalance in the records making balancing vehicles inherently more difficult.
That was part of what made tech trees unique and flavourful, and each tech tree having its own identity, purpose and playstyle was a huge part of the game. It was way better back then, everyone used to hate the mixed matchmaker, if you were around, and now Gaijin ruined it. But if you read carefully, the suggestion is to make it an option you can toggle.
Exactly. Now with the new nation flag implementation into MM, that could even be possible! For example if you take a line-up of only warsaw side Hungary, you get MM’d with soviets.
Neutral countries like Sweden & Switzerland should probably be on the side of whoever they were closest with so probably axis during ww2 tiers.
IF that area is heavily populated as you say… then there should be no darn excuse to have a level playing field… not every single f.n match uptiered.!!! Why is is never again 5.0s because Im pretty darn well sure theres enough of them!!!
Its a joke, a farce, there literally is NO POINT in having BRs, stick with ranks - you get what evers in there… because at the moment — 6.0 ISNT 6.0!
Same old russian bias as always - they often only ever get ,3 ,7 uptiers and quite a lot of even / downtiered.!!! its calculated and forced to give the advantage!! NOT SUPPRISED!
There’s no such thing as Russian bias, give that coping mechanism a break… if you look around, you’d realize you can come up with any excuse to call bias for any nation, and there have many excuses in the past to do so but it’s never been as popular as beating the same dead horse.
Russian 6.0 - 7.0 is average at best right now. I much prefer playing the US or Germany in that bracket.

The bias exists in the match making - being levelled or downtiered,
I monitored over 1000 matches covereing different nations etc! Russian is 100% set to an advantage!
China usually being the worst along with USA!
I dont think something like this can hurt anyone if its a toggle. I like the idea and enjoy playing the game in a more “roleplaying” aspect. Especially if a feature like this was able to support WW2 sides aswell as coldwar / modern sides.

i was about to open a topic when i saw this one , proposing the exact opposite :
the removal of nations matchmaking , and every single game as fully mixed game.
why ? why someone that wish for years for historical battle to return ?( yeah , before being called “realistic battle” , it was “historical battle” , back when this game was plane only)
Because i’m tired boss , tired of all the toxicity of this game , tired of watching endless rush to the spawn to kill as many enemy as possible because it is promoted in this game , when in ANY OTHER GAME it is considered as unfair play.
Because i’m tired of waiting for GAIJIN to wake up and finaly try to balance this game
Because i’m tired that every single update , some new META VHL appear and ruin the entire top tier.
right now , i’m not even playing for winning : if i have russia on my side , i could try to sabotage my team that we would still win at the end , because KH38 an LMUR spam are efficient enough for a single player to carry the entire team.
also , let’s face it , there is already so many copy paste in this game that even if specific nation vs nation return , you would still have like sherman vs sherman , abrams vs abrams , russian tank vs russian tank.
at least a fully mixed matchmaking would make the W/R only related to the skills of players composing the team instead of the “BIAS” real or not , of some vehicules.
but still , for the NATO VS PACT proposal :
i imagined (and even proposed couples of years ago) , a simple system to have NATO VS PACT VS NON ALIGN matchmaking :
add 3 new tech tree to the game (the 3 named previously) , and every times you unlock a tank in a tech tree , it would be unlocked in the corresponding one (this was also a long time ago a thing , when they started implementing copy past tanks , they were unlocked on the new tech tree in the dev server)
making a line up in any of thoses tech tree and clicking “games” would start the lobby search , only using the PACT/NATO / NON ALIGN playerbase , and make a game of 1 vs 1 from that.
anyway , most players in this game are COD like players enjoying small map / CQC battle with modern tank , and don’t give a damn about thoses stuff , so again , not gonna happen
