Brimstones... we have a problem

should this be implemented

As many people argue over the fact that brimstones will be too OP if mmV is added, many other munitions are constantly added… lets talk about that

Schindibee: “It was explained explicitly when the Brimstone was added to WT that the functionality you mention was not added because of balance reason. So not really a bug, but a decision about that guidance mechanic.”

what? the millimetric wave function, fair enough but why can’t we get a compromise like many other munitions like the MITL weapons or the Fiber Optic weapons

lets see some reasons why the fact that both the devs and community saying how there would just be a spam of brimstones is being hyopcritical (no offence dont ban me <3)

№1 The GBU-59 "stormbreaker… 20x

GBU-59 "stormbreaker

The F15E is capable of bringing 20x of these stormbreakers, The community constantly argue that:

I see no reason, at the current moment, to not give the Brimstones their fire and forget ability

counter claim: u/powerpuffpepper & u/peaxto

“I see no reason why we shouldn’t have 18 fire and forget missiles on one of the best top tier platforms in the game”
Reworded it for you.

“I see no reason why we shouldn’t have 18 fire and forget missiles that are immune to smoke and can independently target different enemies without ever having seen them on one of the best top tier platforms in the game”

sources

however yet there are 8 vehicles that can hold these stormbreakers, 7 of which only hold 8… much like the Eurofighter typhoon with SPICE-250’s however if something aka The F-15E can hold 20 glide IR bombs at once that have a much higher chance of killing a target than a Brimstone, why can’t the brimstone get its Fire and Forget feature… even if its not mmV just TV guidance or IR to be generous… (not happening knowing Gaijin)

Details

even then 10 vehicles get access to the Brimstone with the Eurofighter typhoon getting the most (18), so Great Britain wouldn’t get the largest straw when this would be implemented, you know what, this is starting to get boring arguing with the storm breakers…

№2 fire and forget missiles, on helicopters

Helicopters

only 5 helicopters get the AGM-179 IR “Hellfire” and only 1 gets the LMUR “Izdeliye 305”

but only does china gets 2 helicopters that have fire and forget AGM’s, the AH-64E, with hellfire’s, and the
Z-10ME, with the CM-502KG and the Blue Arrow 11… so not only does China get 2 separate helicopters with 16x F&F munitions, one of the helicopters gets 2 different missiles, yes one of them has a limit of 8 however I think my point is proven

a very large point is that 18x Brimstones are too OP, there would just be spam, guess what, helicopters can do the exact same thing and also be very hard to hit with ARH missiles, yes they are very vulnerable to SACLOS SPAA like the FlaRakRad, Pantsir S-1/SM-SV, ADATS, FK-2000, but they can just take cover behind a cliff or hill, planes can do the same, just not as easily, is my point starting to be proven… probably not but that’s called denial

ok then I think we may have shown some details to why Great Britain has been shafted in war thunder, now lets look at some details I have found

Variants Of the Brimstone
before I continue obviously many comments are going to arouse of how modern some of these variants are so just remember how the T-90M and the SEP V3 and Ajax are approximately 2020’s

The Brimstone (2005)
almost the same as what we have in-game, IRL however solely relying on mmV seeker, range on aircraft of 12-20 km

Dual-mode Brimstone (DMS) (2008)
The brimstone variant that was based on for the SAL (semi-active laser) mode that was added in-game, however completely disregarding the fact that it had Man-in-the-loop capabilities

Brimstone 2 (2016)
introduced an upgraded modular airframe, and enhanced guidance software, newer IM motor, improved seeker and a better range of over 200% with a max range of 40-60+ km

Brimstone 3 (2019)
main upgrade was the capability for Surface-to-surface launch capabilities with the ability to be mounted on the Supacat HMT600 Wolfram, Ajax and boxer variants

maritime Brimstone “Sea Spear” (2013)
a navalized version of the brimstone designed to destroy swarms of fast inshore attack craft (FIAC) with a 16kg payload capacity

SPEAR 3 (2026?)
A developmental, clean-sheet cruise missile derivative built heavily on Brimstone technology. It incorporates a turbojet engine, swarm AI logic, and a vastly extended air-launched standoff range of up to 130 km

a conclusion
now then after all that there are obviously going to be people saying how Brimstones are still to OP, heck you may never even read this because 90% of my posts get removed instantly but that doesn’t matter, the point stands that the developers are ignoring us UK mains and giving other countries the best of the best, well then I guess there are some options we have

№1: The Sea Spears can use a sea radar on the typhoons or tornado

№2: a compromise of TV guidance is given

№2.5: even if the devs say no to that then a perfect GNSS capability should be balanced

№2.75: even if that’s not added because spamming the enemy spawn in GRB, then the feature is disabled in certain game modes like the upcoming cluster bombs

№3: the AESA variant of the typhoon gets the modern brimstones but not things like the FGR.4 and tornado’s idk don’t blame me i.e the FGR.4 can get the Sea spear and the DMS brimstone while the AESA gets the SPEAR 3 and brimstone 2 & 3 (other vehicles like the JAS-39E idk same as the AESA ig)

Its probably our fault. If Germany wouldn’t have Brims ingame, GB would get mmW most likely added.

Great post.
But I would love to get spear GNSS first and then brimstones.

Eurofighter cas buff is not that needed anyway.

With the upcoming self locking GCS bombs, I don’t see anymore reasons to hold back the mmW guidance for the Brimstones
