Brimstone Active Radar Seeker and NATO air-air missles

To create a more balanced and fair gameplay experience in War Thunder, the Brimstone missile should receive its radar-guided mode, allowing it to fully reflect its real-world capabilities. Currently, the missile’s functionality is limited, especially when compared to some of the advanced Russian munitions available, such as the KH-38. The KH-38, with its long range and effectiveness, often puts NATO aircraft at a disadvantage, as Russian forces have access to more versatile and powerful weapons in this tier. If NATO could utilize air-to-air missiles like the AMRAAM or integrate radar modes into Brimstone, it would bring the factions closer to parity. This addition would not only enhance the realism and strategic depth of the game but also correct the current imbalance where Russian missiles often dominate with higher effectiveness in both air-to-ground and air-to-air engagements. Balancing these capabilities would level the playing field and remove the ongoing perception of Russian bias, ensuring a more fair and enjoyable experience for all players. I personally feel like NATO just does not compete with Russian air-ground and air-air capabilities. Yes the rafale has good CAS, but USA, Germany, Britain, Sweden, Italy, etc are just left out. Russian can have all these fire and forget missiles (also the upcoming su30sm) but Britain can’t have Radar guided brimstone. In addition, R77-1 is being added to the game and arguably only the aim-120D is better (Classified). The R73 is also really good and AIM9M’s are slacking behind. In conclusion, NATO should get fair and balanced air to air missiles and Britain should get their accurate brimstone. TO BALANCE OUT THE BRIMSTONE there should be better SPAA (besides Russia) in the game. Panstir S1 can already kill you out of spawn without you knowing, why cant NATO?

That’s just false. Russia gets R-77-1s because regular R-77s are some of the worst ARH missiles.

Buffing CAS doesn’t make balance better.

They both have pros and cons.

  1. Unbalanced air to air combat
  2. SPAA to balance it. Russia has the best SPAA, best CAS and soon to be best air to air
  3. R73 is faster, better range and pulls harder but AIM9M only has a smokeless motor

Nations other than Russia exist. What’s the US supposed to do against 18 Brimstones and more Kh-38s when Ger/UK/Russia all team up.

I’m not sure what you mean by that.

  1. You do have a point.
  2. R77-1 have 120km range and R73 are better at dogfighting then most missiles

range numbers like that make a lot of assumptions about operational conditions, generally to get ranges like that they it’ll be under perfect conditions
you aren’t gonna be launching R77-1s at 120km in warthunder, it will likely still have worse ranged performance than the aim120, if the russia mains are lucky it’ll be similar

They can?

Current AIM-120A/B still beat it

Aim9 has IRCCM that works past 2km and, in my experience, has better range.

Range stat means almost nothing. R77 has a range of like 80km but cant hit anything past like 20km in a headon.

R77-1 still has those grate fins so they will have a lot of drag

Said IRCCM can be 2 flared unlike a R-73 or magic 2

Only if the R73 and magic 2 are in rear aspect and within about 2km.

AGM-65/KH-38/Hammer aren’t radar guided, their all IR guided.

@Fanta_3412

Weird of your post to claim the KH-38 is Brimstone.

His post is comparing radar guided to IR guided.

@AlvisWisla
I don’t see where he specified that KH38 uses radar

That IR guidance can apparently go through smoke
