History
The creation of the Parachute Forces of the Spanish Army dates back to October 17, 1953, when General Muñoz Grandes was Minister of War. The mission is entrusted to Commander Tomás Pallás Sierra, who together with eight officers, twelve non-commissioned officers and one hundred and forty-nine troops will form the first parachutist course, with which the First Parachute Flag is born and receives the name "Roger de Flor ", in memory of the famous Almogávar leader in the service of the Crown of Aragon during the 13th century.This unit is among the best of the spanish army,it is designated as “quick respond unit”.
This unit has been involved in all armed conflicts of Spain since is creation.
