Hello everyone and welcome to this new suggestion.
The Breguet Alizé, a shipborne aircraft, was built following a request from the French Navy in the 1950s. Intended to be a single-seater attack aircraft equipped with a propulsion system combining a turbojet and a turboprop, it became a three-seater with a single, more powerful turboprop.
Built in 75 units for the French Navy and entered service in 1959, the Breguet Alizé has, over time, seen its missions evolve. Originally designed for the anti-submarine offensive, the aircraft was subsequently devoted mainly to aerial and surface detection. The aircraft entered service in three flotillas at the end of the 1950s. On January 1, 2000, 7 aircraft were still in service within the 6F based in Nimes-Garons.
In November 1974, the Navy planned to use the Alizé until 1990, which is why a major modernization program was launched at the Cuers-Pierrefeu Aviation Workshop in early 1978 (the aircraft were re-designated ALM for ALizé Modernisé).
In 1989, following the OLIFANT operations in Lebanon, the aircraft’s self-protection was reinforced with a new low-reflection paint and by making various modifications (hydraulic circuit, electricity generator, adaptation of a decoy sequence calculator for LC III cartridge launchers, UHF/VHF stations, etc.) to the 27 aircraft still in service. The last improvement was carried out between 1996 and 1997 at the Cuers-Pierrefeu Aviation Workshop. A total of 15 aircraft (former ALM) re-designated ALH (ALizé mis à Hauteur) were modernized. They notably receive a new autopilot, a FLIR Chlio camera, an electric trim tab, the capacity to carry the FLIR in the left wing nacelle, the failure panel is modernized and finally the heading chain & the ESM system are renovated.
With the arrival of the E2C Hawkeye, Alizé was withdrawn from active service in September 2000. The Alizé farewell ceremony took place at BAN Nîmes Garons on Friday 15 September 2000.
Today, only a few examples remain in museums, and only one aircraft remains capable of flying. This one appears at various air shows in France and is maintained by a group of volunteers.
The variant I propose to add to the game is the final variant of the aircraft (ALH), this variant and its equipment are the most likely to adapt to the game

EQUIPMENT :
-
Radar : Thomson-CSF DRAA-10A “Iguane”
-
ARAR 12A (RWR)
Information
The ARAR 12A is composed of 6 sensors covering all sides of the aircraft. Two sensors are located on the tail each looking to one side , the other sensors are located on the front of the landing gear stowage, one looks towards the front of the aircraft and the other towards its side (see image).
- FLIR Chlio camera
Information
FLIR Chlio infrared camera developed by THALES-Optronique and intended for helicopters and light aircraft. It is a 2nd generation infrared camera working in the far IR that can interface with a radar and a GPS. It is intended, among other things, for long-range observation day and night, surveillance (border, maritime, coastal), CSAR and SAR, piloting and navigation assistance.
This FLIR is the same that was mounted under various helicopter of the french army.
- LC3 decoy launcher
Information
The LC3 decoy launcher can carry 104 decoy (IR or EM) and is placed Under the left wing.
WEAPONS :
The aircraft has a ventral bomb bay as well as 3 hardpoints under each wing to carry various weapons.
- 2 x AS.12 wire-guided anti-ship missiles
- 6 x 127mm rocket
- 6 x 68mm rocket baskets
- 1 x Torpedo (L4, Mk44, Mk45)
- 3 x ASM Mk 54 grenades
- 1 x additional 500 litre tank
- Various bombs in the ventral bay
In-game this aircraft would be a nice addition, allowing France to obtain a new airborne ground attack aircraft with good detection capabilities. This one would not be too powerful, having no offensive weapons intended for air combat but having good means of defense with its RWR and its countermeasures.
