BR RDF premium LT, USA

ENG: Don’t you think that RDF (and possibly hstvl) isn’t at its proper BR? Why is the 2S38 at 10.7, even though its penetration is only 40 less? But it moves almost the same way, it has an SPO, and its rate of fire is almost twice as high. The thermal sight is much better (why does RDF have the worst thermal sight at 12.0?). After adding the BMPT, RDF’s performance has become rather poor. Since it doesn’t even penetrate the BMPT’s side armor with 1–2 shots. And his acceleration speed and reverse speed are just something else.

it is smaller a bit too so it will be better APFSDS spammer

I have always agreed, move 2S38 up to 11.3, HSTVL at 11.3 and RDF/LT at 11.7 (due to ammunition capacity differences)

The 2S38 fires a notably worse round, is significantly slower, is larger.

The RDF is lucky to even have a thermal sight when its 3D model doesn’t have one.

HAHAHAHA! Sure, when the 2S38 gets 800HP, a 76mm gun, >12 degrees of gun depression, etc.
Until then, it’s hilariously inferior to the HSTVL.

But he still doesn’t belong at 12.0. At least 11.3 or 11.7.

both HSTV-L and RDF are fine at 12.0

Idc about 2s38, give me 11.7 hstvl for my m1a1, av8b na, f14b, adats lineup

The hstvl has mobility like an LT. But the RFD doesn’t. It moves slower than Abrams and Leos. Also, the hstvl’s gun is lower. And both vehicles are so flimsy that 12.7‑mm machine guns can penetrate them in the frontal area. Also, the RDF has 26 hp per ton, while the hstvl has 32.5.

both have “fake” unmanned turret with an absolutely ridiculous amount of gun depression and a low profile
RDF makes up for slightly worse mobility with better fire rate and ammo count

Nah, bring the AV8B down, that poor thing doesn’t deserve to fight pantsir

The RDF is does everything the 2S38 can do but better. If I were to explain why it’s 1.3BR higher, the biggest factors is how spongy the turret is and the gun depression. Those two

The HSTVL sacrifices a large ammo pool for being more lower profile and higher speed which in my opinion isn’t worth the sacrifice. You really need those extra rounds to go through era or hit vital components. Carrying all AP is probably the only way to alleviate this issue however you won’t be able to carry enough HE and even with all AP, you’ll eventually need to resupply. The HSTVL could go down to 11.7 and won’t affect matchmaker what so over but it’s also okay at 12.0. Though I would say that the RDF is good at 12.0

The 2S38 used to be 10.3 (was it 10.0 when abrams and leos were 10.7?), which was absolutely absurd for what it can it can do to down tier.

remove both of them ( rdf lt and hsvtl ) from the game

Are you talking about the HSTV-L / RDF-LT?

Neither have “fake” turrets are nor unmanned if such is what you are insinuating.

The HSTV-L in particular outright exists, the only issue with it imo is that the big equipment rack on the turret is missing and thus the vehicle is missing a substantial amount of drip.

I do not care if its not efficient or if it was not meant to be produced with it, it looks rad and I will suffer not my lack of a cool rack on my tank.

By “fake unmanned” turret I suppose that @MiGoon_Fox-3 meant that the turret, of both vehicles RDF-LT and HSTV-L can be operated without the commander sitting on it, with the gunner in the hull below alongside the driver. It’s a situational feature given that at some point a projectile will get inside and either blow-up the vehicle or disable it until repair is done even at hull down position but still a very good situational feature that highlight its survivability in some scenarios.

I’m still baffled with people calling the RDF-LT and HSTV-L bad in some way. Surely the 75 mm APDS-FS may be lacking in some situations but for the most part that’s a game issue not the vehicle. I’m pretty sure that moments of penetration-no-damage situations was caused primarly by bad shot positioning, I’ve never had issues to one-shot-one-kill most main battle tanks, specially Eastern ones that are the easiest of all.

@МагистрЁба, as @AlvisWisla has mentioned both RDF-LT and HSTV-L has superiority in mobility, gun limits are the most notable feature of both vehicles, those are much more versatile, while in one you have raw firepower in the other you have a set of tools, which in my opinion are way better then 2S38’s, could it have its battle rating increased? Probably could, but HSTV-L and RDF-LT can’t be lowered unless it’s a decompression (which would ultimately mean keeping at the current battle rating and others vehicles at this battle rating range having the battle rating increased), not considering the inaccuracies with those vehicles.

The main problem with RDF is that it’s very slow. And I won’t even mention the backward speed. HSTVL is fast though

Exactly
It’s an incredibly dumb advantage that you can really abuse well if combined with the low profile and ridiculous gun depression (especially on snow maps, people literally cannot see you through the top snow layer, but you can shoot through it)

Curious selection of terminology then, still, neither are even close to being proper “unmanned” turrets given you can still overpressure the hull crew via the turret since they are not actually separate like actual “unmanned” turrets.

Oh no, someone has to apply HE to a tank, what a travesty. Unlike actual unmanned turrets like the puma / 2S38 you can always overpressure the crew on a RDF-LT or HSTV-L if you hit the turret with sizable enough HEAT or HE as the crew compartment is connected on both vehicles to the turret.

EG 3OF26 to the very tip top of the commander’s sight, or

To the very tip of the roof MG.

Same deal with the RDF-LT.

As a aside, I do find it funny that gaijin somehow broke HE in both the viewer and replay so the shell just passes through the vehicle when detonating for some reason, and no, I did not fire that round from above, try it yourself from the side, the rounds just visualize like this now.

I stand completely with you on this, where is my HSTVL drip
