Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet - Technical Data and Discussion

I think it should be 8?

and 4 or 5 aim-174b gunslinger

JSOW’s and LRASM’S are quite heavy so hornets carry no more than 4

Not much heavier than GBU-32

But yes, 6 bombs.

Can’t the SDB-IIs come with the same extra 4x pylon that the SBD-Is use?

No. Only BRU-55

It could, but the F/A-18E uses the BRU-55 to carry the Stormbreakers, limiting it to only 2 per station. The BRU-61 (for 4x GBU-39 or 53s) is not in use on the Super Hornet sadly, idk if the navy is looking into it, but it may also just not happen. Though I think it’s in use with their F-35Bs, but perhaps they can only get it cleared on there because it’s internal.

Spoiler

JSOWs are not that heavy.

Is there really nothing to justify a MAW system on the Super Hornet? I still can’t believe there isn’t a single US fighter with a MAW installed.

there is the F-35

If i am not mistaken F-22 is also equipped with MAWS

isnt that only after they are getting upgraded?

pretty sure that they originally dont have one

IIRC it has MAW for quite a while now, before all upgrades its receiving now. Let me check though

That’s great, gotta wait for 5 gen because everyone else went 4.5.

F-15EX is able to get a MAW ingame through a technicallity

but i think that theUS isnt using a MAW on the F-15EX irl

Nah, this one with MAWS

They’ve always had MAWS from the start, just not one of those frontal IRST that they’re getting upgraded with.

ddint they put an LDIRCM pod on the Super Hornet, which would require a MAWS in the pod

Is AIM-174B only carred by Block III or can also be carried by Block II? Also do we have Block II in game rn?

Yes and yes
