You can see pretty clearly that it’s not a B-2 when you zoom in. It looks more like an A-12 Avenger than a B-2.
FAA spokeswoman Alison Duquette said when asked what it was “I do not know.”
An Air Force Official said the aircraft belonged to the service but he did not identify the aircraft.
US Navy officials also could not identify the aircraft.
So yeah, not a B-2 Spirit.
Anyway back to your original comment, 2028 is the official date, thus that is why I put it on the thread.
I agree with you we’ll most probably see some delays, and the F-47s are going to have countless problems, plus pilots will have to retrain on it.
But it certainly won’t be operational in the 2040s, latest it will be is in the 2030s.
Regardless during its annoucement they said it would be in production and in service under Trump’s term.
As you said, indeed, only time will tell.
That probably depends a great deal on how you define “in service” I’m thinking of it as at least a squadron ready to deploy into a combat zone. If you define it as the air force has some and is starting to train the first pilots on them that will become the flight instructors for them, then the time line becomes more reasonable.
Yeah that would be more reasonable, but I don’t think a squadron would be too hard either. Remember it’s not Lockheed Martin making the F-47, it’s boeing. And with how important this contract is to them we’ll surely see better results that LM’s F-35 production disaster.
Their defense sector has been largely focused on NGAD infrastructures and the overall program. They made a bet on it, and they got the contract so I guess it worked.
Also on that triangular aircraft, I changed the luminosity on Gimp and we can see the shape a bit clearer now.
Spoiler

Yeah, defiantly got a straight back end, interesting.

seems like missile buses are the future
that means basically as much as a flying hippo wearing lipstick
PS. heres to all those ragers who claim canards hurt stealth.
L.M.A.O.
Yea you’re missing that Canard are not a problem with Stealth. If you follow the rules. And only when moving it would produce more RCS. But the amounts its about any other Control surface.
His comment its kinda pathetic and biased.
From guess 3ds models it look like it have something like Shinden2 (Kawamori). Design for vertical stabilizer.
That was mostly Western copium. StealthFlanker already disprove that.
Well that’s not political at all
No it should be a reserve aircraft.
