BMPT ATGM reload time

I had a game last week where 1 BMPT player just sat on the cap and wiped out the my whole teams flank by ATGMs. I was wondering how this was possible.
So I checked a bit and noticed that there are different behaviors for the ATGM reload mechanics.

  • Single missile reload → fast reload, ~5s
  • stack reload → slow reload

On the other hand there is an additional major difference. Most vehicles have to reload (either single or stack) into the ammo storage first, and then reload again into the launcher. Especially reloading the launcher can take up to additional ~10s.
I could not find any other vehicle than the BMPT which has no ammo starage for the missiles and gets the single missile reload. This leads to the fact that you can sit on a cap or ammo box and spam a missile every 5s. I dont know if this is “intended” or not, but I think it creates a bit of an inbalance.
With the new ammo box buff (reload time reduced from 60s to 15s) this get even more relevant.

So either

  • the BMPT should also get a stack reload of around 25-30s like other SPGs,
  • or any missile carrier should be able to load the missile directly into the launcher.

Do you know any other vehicles that have no missle ammo storage and have the single missile reload?

The counter argument you got is stupid, it should still reload all at once after a long wait

BMPT has no internal storage for missiles, so it’s impossible to load missiles there first.

I mean, yeah, but why does it reload one by one into the launcher while others load in chunks over long time?

Yeah, but all other vehicles like this (ADATS) has a long ass reload, so whats your point?

That time might be scaled with the amount of missiles it’s carrying.
Do you expect 8 missiles to be reloaded as quickly as 4 ?

I agree it is not a bug. But for gameplay balancing I ask myself why can the BMPT load the missiles fast one by one?
And honestly why can other ATGM carriers not load directly into the launcher? I mean why would you put the missiles into the storage first if the launcher is emtpy? Makes no sense.
