BMPT-72 Terminator-2

The first generation BMPT had all that, but it was significantly pared down for the second version.

I say +1 for both. The QN506 is already hella fun and cool, so why not bring the original tank support vehicle?

I think that would be way too low. I think 11.3-11.7 (based on the 12.0 cap) honestly, especially if it can use full Relikt (soft bags too). The twin high RoF 30mm’s would shred everything, plus the missiles, and grenade launcher.

Too high I think, IFV like weapon won’t provide as much efficiency as real big cannon, the reaction of missile is too slow, and auto cannon can’t pen enemy’s front.
Plus T-72 hull means you can’t sneak around like a real light vehicle.
It would be far worse than a T-72B3, even worse than T-90A, so I would give it 10.7.
and 1 thing not sure is it’s turret armor, from some source it’s as thick as a T-72, able to stop any ke ammo, and others say it’s not so good and can be pen by top APFSDS in that BR.

There’s no way. Way to thin with no armor beyond composite appliqué armor visible. Not to mention, many electrical components are exposed just under the guns.

As for the lack of frontal pen, take account the dual 30mm’s with APFSDS-T will be able to knock out any gun module practically instantly and when followed up with a missile, guaranteed kill. It would delete any light vehicles and aircraft with ease. All side armor is negatable. I couldn’t go any lower than 11.0 personally but anyone of course can make there interpretation.

I think still not fast enough in close encounter, and not mention mid/long range fight. T-15 with 57mm gun would fit this more, able to knock out gun module or pen weak point from front, and followed up with a missile

I can already hear people complain about russian bias

+1, A family of vehicles I’ve wanted to see in the game for a long time. Would be great to see the Terminator-1 added to the TT and have this come possibly as a premium vehicle.

Here’s how I think about it:

  • The Namer 30 is BR 10.7. The Namer has a low RoF 30mm Bushmaster capable of firing APFSDS-T, coaxial 7.62mm machine gun, and 2x Spike’s that have 900mm of pen behind ERA and are FnF but struggle with guidance. It also has a self-defense 60mm mortar. This is all based on a Merkava hull with a frontally mounted engine and poorly implemented composite armor.
  • The BMPT Terminator-2 is equipped with dual 30mm 2A42’s that can fire APFSDS-T that have a much higher RoF, 4x 9M120 missiles with 800mm of pen behind ERA that are laser guided, 2x 7.62mm coaxial machine guns, and a 30mm grenade launcher based on a T-72 hull with K-5/Relikt ERA and composite armor, on par with the T-72B3 with its Relikt armor package.
  • They both have lackluster maneuverability in different aspects, the BMPT has higher max speed with a non-existent reverse speed while the Namer has average forward and reverse speeds. Both struggle with the same weakness of ammunition cookoff or detonation and exposed electronics due to the remote turrets.

The BMPT Terminator-2 will significantly out perform the Namer 30 in all categories (except maneuverability, which both struggle with in different ways) which automatically should place it at BR 11.3 (11.0 at the absolute minimum).

This can be said of the Terminator-1 as well which are both pretty much the same thing.

The BMPT Terminator-1 compared to the BMPT Terminator-2 which is an export refit but have very similar capabilities.

that’s possibly because gaijin overrated F&F missile.

isn’t Namer unmanned turret? and as I remember, BMPT’s crew just sit over the 30mm ammo, not sure if they are separated by armor.

+1 as tech tree

Yeah, I mixed that up. The BMPT crew sits on the ammo and the Namer 30 doesn’t as it’s separated with its RCWS.

Russian crew sits on a tinder keg. Not sure if there’s a blast door between the ammo and crew, it could redirect the explosives out of the vehicle and mitigate it. Doesn’t look like it though.

I also remember some article say they are separated, though, even separated, the burning ammo would still burn the crew in seconds(in game).
and the bigger problem is, the belt outside the turret, may act like a fuse to the ammo

Quite possible it could. It depends on how it’s implemented though. It should cause that effect but we’ll see if it does. Either way though, any HE/HEAT round detonation on the turret is going to be heavily damaging to catastrophic

I’d love to see it in the game. It would definitely fit at 11.0+

such a shame that other nations like Italy and Germany have next gen IFVs like the tanky Puma and KF41, while USSR is stuck with paper-thin BMPs :P

At this point the Kurganets-25 can also be considered to be added.

honestly, and the T-15 too. KF41 is literally meant to fight alongside the Panther, yet it is already in the game

This tank will 100% be after the 2S25M, maybe 10.7-11.0 is great for this tank since its not too agile. Its basically the BMP-2M with 2x more firepower and armor but worse mobility. Also the Terminator 2 is actually a retrofit to the Terminator 1, since you know gaijin it will be a premium if included.
