pathing can do a lot, minimize line of sight and you can get to some really good spots like that.
And of course it helps that a large part of the playerbase plays with their sound, screen, brain or a combination of those turned off.
EDIT: Also know who you are facing. A lot of NATO teams will play very passive, so against them you can do some really crazy rushes as long as you avoid the long sight lines. Russian teams like to rush more, but often don’t expect to get counter rushed at the start, so you can catch them off guard quite often.

My luck doing that sadly is abysmal. Like looping around the whole enemy team, decapping a point… SIKE light tank is just behind the point, instantly recaps it and locks me in position
Or looping around the whole enemy team, waiting to decap a point for a bit, being absolutely certain nobody is there, only to get killed by some random dick that happened to stay at a camping position near the point for ages.
Many more examples these are just the ones from yesterday.
And at least for me, the audio of my own engine sounds very inconsistent and other players engines don’t properly make noises (like constant first gear reving in the bmps unless i look at them directly or the usual inaudible engines).
And even when flanking successfully, enemy players seem very hyper aware

you’re thinking about the AP-T round, APDS has 79mm of pen at 500m
it can easily shred tracks and barrels with that firerate, which tends to be a death sentence depending on the location, also it’s still capable of killing a good chunk of MBTs at that distance even in top tier
Abrams? Driver port
Challenger 2s and 3? LFP on those that lacks the added armor (so all Tier 8s + some Tier 7s)
Type 10 and 90 variants? Driver, turret ring, LFP (rip)
ZTZ variants? Driver port
Leclerc? LFP
These are the ones that it can do with relative ease
The ones with good survival chance that they would struggle with would be the Leo/Strv, T-series, Merkavas and funnily enough, Ariete
And this is the end of the line vehicles that in theory should be more armoured than the previous ones
so yeah, they aren’t great at that range if you’re aiming at the front of a tank but they are certainly still capable of killing some
there are simmilar issues with the Boxers, the engine compartment is actually not separated from the crew so if you get hit with HE or HEAT in the transmission or lower engine you get overpressured or your driver dies of spall
Reminds me of the French VBCI that can be overpressured by hitting the transmission that is 100% completely outside the vehicle and has zero armor (and is also modeled with the suspension included as the “transmission module” making the hitbox utterly gigantic)
