BMPT/72 Should not be 10.3

But what kind of nerf do you expect or anticipate? because I think that if this vehicle is to stay in the game, then unfortunately we have to bypass “realism” and simply figure out what else can be broken in it to make it “balanced”. And they do that, veeeeeeeery slowly, true, but they changing. Still a lot of work i think, but now almost everything can “stop” BMPT, and almost all faced MBT easly penetrate it and kill it.
So, puting

I see 3 options

  1. Remove the BMPTs from the game
  2. Move the BMPTs up to a BR where they can ONLY face tanks that have shells that can reliably counter (12.0+)
  3. Overhaul soviet ERA so thats its not as stupidly good as Gaijin currently models it
3.5) Remove the ERA from the BMPT if it cant be changed for “reasons”

That is the bare minimum to balance it, but alongside that making the ammo inside the turret internal not external, so that when its destroyed, something maybe happens. Make the turrets reload 1 at a time, as does on multiple other multi-barrel vehicles. Remove the ammo crate.

As stated, it should be at least 11.0 and at most 12.0, and give this damn thing APFSDS ammunition.

Make them 12.3, so my Puma does not have to face it, or 12.0 and make the KF41/Puma 10.7 aswell

well well well, when i say its suppose to be at 11.0 i am defending the bmpt.

but here you are saying it loud and clear.

what a joke

Yup, even better

That piece of junk BMPT managed to ruin one of the best wheeled vehicles in the event (current event) to the point where it can only be useful at long distances using SPYKE.

It’s just terrifying to see players like that clown defend it tooth and nail and deny the vehicle’s current situation until the very last moment.

if u add APFSDS, he removed 12.7 MBT. Then we back to that thread xD

Wishful thinking, but it won’t happen. Unfortunately.

So making him less useful in the field? This is the most common snail path, but are the results satisfactory?

So basically what I wrote, just fix it, finally fix this armor and its “strange” behavior

No, we have several light vehicles with APFSDS that pierce 200mm+, others that pierce up to 170mm, and are still effective in their BRs 11.7 to 12.0 without problems of being too strong or having high survival rates.

The math is simple: Give a strong vehicle other strong vehicles to fight it.

It would amke it balanced. I get it, OP thing is more fun, but when its litereally destroyed the ability of the other 9 nations to even touch the current BR, it cannot remain. And besides, BMPT would still be a problem even at 12.0 without a single change. Just have to aim for the weakspots for a change. (I know shock horror, soviet mains having to learn how to aim)

Strange?

its not strange, its Gaijin making soviet ERA OP because “Russia!!!” whilst simutaneously nerfing all other ERA because “marketing lies”

1st option doesn’t seem likely unless they have a decent replacement available for it unless you’re specifically preventing people who doesn’t have it from researching/buying them

2nd, while 12.0+ are bit better off because of pen, the armor can still be rather wonky in some areas with the amount of layers going trough RNG

3rd/3.5 might work

there is also the 4th option, make the ammo belt detonating actually destroy the vehicle

we’ve been fighting the russian propaganda office for a while now

15.0 only with HE ammo

I still dont understand how it made it to live. We’ve had vehicles postponed due to issues before, I just dont understand why Gaijin didnt see this iceburg coming

Yup, though that is nothing new for soviet ERA. But at least DM53 usually works whilst L23 doesnt

Thats a given, if that remains, im submitting a bug report for the Challenger 1/2/3s ready racks counting as external and not internal because they are located in the turret and not inside the main body of the tank. I would suggest everyone else does the same for their nations MBT

the problem with that is that according to datamine, they did a complete rework of the BMPT’s armor when they implemented the update, so the vehicle that was tested at the end of dev server and the one released aren’t even the same

Not sure if it was equally strong there or nah

were already half way there.

I still dont understand how they thought 10.3 was initially acceptable for a tank with better survivability to that of most top tier MBTs and a decent autocanon with ATGMs. Let alone all the BS since

Possible response: We checked your report and found that this is not true, even if you use the BMPT as an example. We remind you that the BMPT’s external ammunition rack is designed this way, according to documents that have been carefully analyzed by our team.

Glory to Russia !

Light. BMPT is not light tank. That a huuuuuuuge difference

Idk is more or less fun tbh, and idk is this will fix something.

Strange, because the same armor can sometimes protect from nuclear blast, and another time be penetrated by a tank with 9.0 xD

Oni, I’ve defended the BMPT.

Here’s me defending it: So much so that 11.3 is plausible for it without ammunition changes.

@racimazzedine has not defended it outside of wanting it moved up:

Granted, it’s a generally neutral BR suggestion.
But if you were to accuse him of defending the BMPT, that would be the post to use as evidence.

How does BMPT being as OP as EBR once was make them biased?
Are you telling us that Gaijin Entertainment had German and France bias as well when they had similar to identical situations?

You quite literally trashed on @racimazzedine for having this take…
