I don’t if its me but every single time they shot my turret with proper placement I lost my both cannons and missiles somehow, too bad I was in hulldown position so I repaired my both cannons, replenished my missiles just in 20 seconds to get back into fight and ruin other people’s fun.
Situation was so bad on that match at certain point people stopped shooting at me and tried to focus on my teammates, what’s worse is that due to one cap design I placed myself on hulldown position where I can easily control both flank sides so enemy couldn’t even get close to us.
The game was over from the start for them and they were really pissed to me due to staying hulldown during entire match while getting 7 kills and 4 assists.

WHAT IS ANYONE ABLE/SUPOSED TO DO AGAINST THIS? (I´ve hit one gun and munition)
35mm oerlikons demolish hulldown BMPT’s.
Surprised?
Ok…?
What’s your point
bmpt to weak now on new br’s
need asap APFSDS ammunition
And 2a42 demolishes any oerlikon carrier. And it takes less effort and time to hit giant box than bmpt turret
Just pointing out what you can use to melt hulldown bmpt.
And aswering your own assumptions.
Depends what oerlikon carrier you use.
Basic gepard , or laser rangefinders.
But nowdays when they have been raised on 11.7 it is quite lot rarer to see oerlikons. Unless someone is trolling in German / China tree.
The 35mm will only kill them hull down provided you get a 90 degree ricochet off of the BMPT’s turret. I’ve done it a couple times but it relies heavily on you not being shot at by the BMPT at the same time.
BMPT and BMPT-72 are ruining the game. I suggest to limit the APDS/APT ammo count on both vehicles, just like what they did on most anti-air like Gepard. This may give other players more time to react and have a fair fight.
The gepard apds limit is not based on balance but irl limitations
Oh? How is it? they can only bring 40 rounds in real life?
Advocate for changes that doesn’t directly negatively affect a vehicle rather than doing so because of your frustation: it’s not fruitful because you’re struggling so must the other player as well? Advocate for changes that only require in-game changes (e.g. battle rating and classification);
The 35 mm Oerlikon KDA autocannon uses a dual-fed mechanism that allows a secondary belt, in this case of the Gepard and similars (e.g. Chieftain Marksman and Type 87 SPAAG) with some exceptions like the XM-246. If I’m not wrong there are some technical limitations that prevents loading 680 rounds (in this case 620 rounds) of DM23 APDS-T belts but might be just developer decision.
The APDS isn’t even a problem on the gepard, it’s the APHE that does way too much page and kills tanks easily through the cupola
Sorry I didnt quite understand your translation, but I disagree that by merely changing BMPT’s BR it would solve this problem at all. Players play game to have fun. It is not a place for people to show off their skills or take obviously unfair and unnecessary challenges.
As for the Gepard APDS limitation issue, be that as it may, because it actually makes the game more balanced and bearable to play. I understand people are seeking for a more “realistic” experience in this game, but it is just not what the game is about.
only let one gun use APDS, I’m fairly sure that was the whole point of having 2 guns to begin with.
and remove ammo boxes from everything but SPAAs
Merely is a hard word to say, as I’ve mentioned and to simplify: I will disagree with changes advocating for ahistorical changes in the vehicle, in the gameplay experience of the vehicle for sake to please other people regardless if the ahistorical change is positive or negative; Gaijin marketed War Thunder as a realistic game so it must be.
As for the Gepard part is just off-topic (on my post), it was just to answer your question on this difference and further add to @Fjord post answering said question. Gaijin can and must change BMPT and BMPT-72 classification to medium tank (in my opinion) and if needed further battle rating change—The latest battle rating was, as I can see, noticeable and effective in terms of pleasing the people that couldn’t apply the same concept of dealing with a soviet main battle tank in the exact same chassis, regardless.
It is obvious that the recent battle rating was effective in that regard since its kill/death ratio stedily decreased:
Do I think the vehicle is overpowered? No, the problem was Gaijin making it a Premium vehicle, even so the BMPT-72 is weaker than its tech tree counterpart. I can’t help but imagine a future where Gaijin purposely sells Premium vehicles that are similar or considerable superior effectiveness than its tech tree counterpart, see World of Tanks for example that locks superior tanks in form of Loot Crates or absurd event requirements, or even better take a look yourself the latest Premium additions in War Thunder, whose are removed from the Gaijin Store and whose are best selling and why.
Thanks for your reply. Still, I dont think War Thunder is a game that should stick to its label as being “realistic”. Or at least, to treat it too seriously. I mean, sure, there are a lot of realistic features in this game, like armor analysis, interior structure and so on, but this is a game that defeats its purpose, if the purpose is to make this game to be a truly realistic simulation. Just look at how tanks are fighting in the game, how the battle rating is designed regardless of tanks coming from different times.
Thus, although I respect the fact that players (including me) are coming to this game to enjoy a more realistic approach to a video game that depicts historical battles and with more historical consideration and accuracy, I don’t think it is a valid reason to prevent Gaijin from modifying a vehicle, especially when it is pretty much overpowered.
I hear you that you don’t think BMPT is OP, and kindly showed a kill/death graph to demonstrate your view. However, BMPT may become less a threat to directly kill you but it certainly made players less enjoy the game, as it is shooting down people’s truck and or critically damaging players’ vehicles, leaving them unfunctional and get killed by that BMPT or other tanks either way. Players don’t need to be great at get kills in BMPT but the whole environment of the top tire has changed because of BMPT, and now waiting time for players who play Russian tech tree has greatly increased, thanks for its unbalanced performance. I would say by upgrading its BR won’t really help the game, as it is still unbalanced and overpowered. But I also admit that I don’t want an ahistorical change to happen, however, this time (if they do) would be acceptable. Actually I would rather happy to go back in time when they didnt add BMPT.
As to your point that they need to make BMPT a medium tank, I don’t see how it is going to help the situation. Do you mean by making it a medium tank players need more spawn points for BMPT? Or you are saying people who complain BMPT are nonsense as BMPT is using the same chassis from other Russian MBT? If that’s the case, I would say it is very different as those two 30mm can pour ammo at you and blind you instantly to make it is impossible to aim, and then he will break your gun, truck, and fire missile at you, and all what you can do is watching your tank dying.
