armour doesnt mean that much at top tier every tank has the same weakspot. the leopard is such an overated tank ingame giving it a 5 second reload would be completely fine

A lot of tanks have this now.
Niche and rarely messes you over.
Same 0-60 as M1A2, lagging top speed but it doesn’t matter too much on most maps, acceleration matters more.
2nd best armor profile in the game? Unlike 90M, it can actually hide its weakspots too.

The overwhelming majority of MBT’s in top tier have baskets, and the NATO hump is while larger than average still not really a massive limitation provided you have the situational / positional awareness to work around it, barring the situations where you’re caught off guard where other tanks likely also fail. The mobility on 2A5/A6’s are fine and 2A7’s is iirc only slightly worse than average. meanwhile the armor on 2A7/122 is much better than a majority of current MBT’s.

Basically the armour of Russian MBTs (and even a bit better in a lot of cases) minus the drawbacks of Russian MBTs (gun depression, reload (for the most part), reverse speed).

Though at this point I don’t think anyone is denying it other than some particular people…
the nato hump compared to the other big 2 nato tanks incase you forgot it can get quite annoying
i wont argue that yes more tanks do have baskets now but the abrams and leclerc have 5 second reloads and the type 10s have a 4 second reload so eh
it doesnt feel like the 0-60 is the same as the m1a2 it feels much slower
the good armour is a niche to the 2a7 and the 122s the 2a6 being at 12.7 trades the armour for better mobility like the abrams but the 2a6 and 2a5 dont have 5 second reloads the 122s would be fine with a 5 second reload as they have good armour and mobility but a much worse round to compensate the 2a7 has good armour which doesnt really matter because your not gonna face everyone direct front on and if you do you have the same weakspot as every other tank so who really cares and unlike the 122s it gets better armour but worse mobility to compensate though while still keeping DM53 obviously its all personal preference but the leopards deserve a 5s reload especially the 2a5/2a6 and the 2a7 and 122 have 0 issue getting it aswell

While I prefer Abrams we cannot change the fact that 16 rounds is enough for most players (because they wont spend all of it), and that 2A7/122 are just objectively easier to play than pretty much every other tank. Abrams has higher ceiling, Leo has lower floor.
Giving Leo 2A7/122s a 5s reload invalidates literally every single top tier tank more than it already can.
2A5/6 are both fine and honestly quite good, was playing the 2A6NL a few weeks back and had a blast.

Eh I don’t have the most amount of games in Leos but im fairly certain im over 500 combined? (Just in 2A7s)
2A7HU’s model is better than 2A7Vs, actually
I even have a bug report open on how 2A7HU has better mantlet armor and seemingly no double-spall modifer like the 2A7V does so it’s better at absorbing mantlet shots.

please other than some niche armour that gives barely any advantage in an actual match tell me what does the 122 have over something like an abrams or a leclerc
122s are the last MBTs that should be buffed via reload, maybe ever
But okay;
- ARMOR AND SPALL LINERS
- better vertical elevation
- M/95 over Leclerc’s OFL F1
- CITV over all Leclerc’s but S21
122s are basically the 2A7s… but on steroids because they’re closer to the “Leopard 2 TVM” armor standard from the Swedish Trials, despite the fact all of them should be modelled like the TVM and have even better than armor than they all currently do.

Armor really isn’t niche. Its an overhyped aspect of tanks but definitely not useless or niche.
The turret on Leos, especially the sides, is such a massive advantage over Leclerc its not even funny. Not to mention the hull protection, which makes you immune to autocannons, let alone KE/CE munitions.
Abrams is quite close to Leo and like I said, has higher ceiling and floor.
